I feel like whoever drew this had a good laugh, putting Gus and Jaq right there near a HUGE SWORD because goodness knows knives don't exist in the Cinderella universe.
I'm kinda distracted by the pitch correction. Auto-tuning is used pretty widely nowadays, but somehow in this case the mix sounds really artificial to my ears. I feel like it'll be better in full context, after the introductory Belle, where we'll have time to get used to Emma's voice. I don't expect her singing to be perfect, either!
Russell Crowe and Pierce Brosnan are really low bars to get pass...
Indeed! Her daily routine is pretty much adventure this, adventure that, and occasionally getting away from Ursula. Oh, Ariel.
Though I guess on one level you can argue that Ariel thinking this makes sense for her, because she ends up finding the human world far more fascinating than the boring 'ol sea, but it's just such a funny thing for her to say seeing as how many amazing things she gets up to.
I'm glad! I wish the novel series had gone on for longer, or there were more books like this one that explored Ariel's family life. They're so unique now.
Thank you, that is awesome! One mystery, down.
I was sadly spoiled for that, so I knew it was coming! But such a great call-back, I love it. <3
I didn't know that Maui was originally the lead! That... makes it even more perplexing to me. I feel like Clements & Musker are very conscious and smart about the stories they tell, so I'd love to know more about the hurdles they faced and why they made the choices they did.
I thought the final battle itself was great, and it brought it back round to why Moana is the chosen one (in her empathy and recognition of Te Fiti) so I do wonder why they'd miss that the set-up didn't address Maui's return -- unless they didn't miss it, but couldn't deal with it for other reasons. My other problems with the movie are very minor and subjective.
I'm more interested in optimistic takes as well. There's a big trend towards dark and gritty lately, and while that was interesting when it was less common, I'm tired of it by now. It's not boring for a story to be uplifting!
The case with Chloe is a weird one! I saw some articles that said she was quitting all her projects to figure herself out... yet I also saw an article later on that she'd signed on to a new project? I do hope the Universal version is still happening, with or without her.
Yeah... it's nice they get closure, but it's bittersweet...
I'm hoping, too! They're finally starting to include Mulan and Pocahontas in the princess line-ups again, but I haven't seen them in solo books for... quite a while. Also, hello!
