YES, I was way into New Vegas and Skyrim. I beat Fallout3 and Vegas but I've never actually beaten Skyrim. They're just great exploring-the-map games. Like, Ooo, what's over there??
There's something weird with the leveling up in Fallout4, too. The game mechanics are a bit different. But yes, I don't necessarily need to be losing myself in a game for hours on end right now..
YES!!! I was sooo excited for Fallout 4 but... for some reason, I haven't been able to get into it...
Fallout 3 on the PS3. I just wandered the wastelands for hours. It's strange that wandering this post-apocalyptic wasteland afforded me such escapist solace, but it did. Watching television, a stupid commercial could trigger a memory of this person, but nothing in this game reminded me of anything.
There was this really bad breakup I went through a few years ago -- and I wanted to just escape for long stretches. Watching most movies or tv was hard because everything seemed to remind me of this person!
But this one videogame I played -- I could get lost exploring this imaginary world for hours on end and nothing in that world reminded me of this person. It was so good. It helped me get through the roughest part of the grieving portion of that breakup -- without resorting to DRINKING.
