I hang out over on PopClogs http://www.popclogs.com - it's nominally a goal-setting website but if you make the same goal together it becomes a mini-forum thread. It's pretty small but a really sweet group of people and they were enthusiastic about new members. Same username over there if you want to find me.
Thanks for sharing! I love the comparison of meeting health & safety standards, it makes it easier to get the point across.
FYI, there's a federal program through each state's library that gives free by-mail access to braille and audio books & magazines, and downloadable access to audio versions. You do have to get some kind of medical provider to sign off that there is a medical need, but then it's all free. One of the things I'm happy my taxes pay for.

No. Too little time to get reinvested in the site. PC is getting REALLY quiet though.
Thanks for the post and the great discussion! I'm always looking for better examples, are there any movies/other media that do a GOOD job of portraying DID/plural people? The most sensitive one I can think of is an episode in the show Lie to Me, but I'm pretty ignorant on the topic so I'd love to know if you think that's a positive example or if you know of others.
Before you hire him, can you make sure he can find Finland on a map?
Punks and thugs! It's fun to say.
Mr. President, a couple of guys.
Awesome!
On Twitter the hashtags #bloggesstribe and #thebloggesstribe are places to find mental health support. It's totally informal, but it's a warm and friendly bunch amidst the chaos of Twitter.
For sure. Those goals are my goals - know everything and know everyone is how I put it. Read every book. Get every joke.
One thing that's worked for me is picking five areas of my life to focus on. The idea is that 95% of what you do should fit into one of those 5 areas. Mine change from time to time but I always include one called "Everyday Responsibilities" for things like going to work and doing chores. The five areas are just for now, I can change them when my values change. But it helps narrow down what I'd most like to do with my time.
So right now my 5 areas are Family, Self-Care, Sparking Joy, Everyday Responsibilities, and House. There's no social focus category right now, so if spending time with my friends doesn't feel like self-care or like it's sparking joy, I just don't do it.
I just ignore it for a while and come back later when it's crabby. But that's why we have our lifeboat over here, anyways.
Thanks for sharing!
There are a ton of articles if you search for "alternatives to time-out." Here's a couple that I like: http://www.positiveparentingconnection.net/time-out-vs-time-in-whats-the-difference/ http://www.positiveparentingconnection.net/toddlers-making-trouble-11-alternatives-to-time-outs/ I have no personal experience to offer as my kids are only 2 months old. If you check Google Scholar you'll find abstracts of research; what I saw mostly had tentative conclusions, not definitive answers.

I just want to acknowledge and appreciate that you post so often and make this a living community even though there are very few posts not made by you. Thanks! I do try and participate and post when I can but it's not much.
Sure, I put them up as posts over on Inclusion, I can cross-post them here! I know the feeling of being the only one posting!
I've just given up on air travel and only travel by train, bus, or car now. Air travel is increasingly unpleasant and uncomfortable.
A couple of resource links to share on this topic: https://www.inclusiverec.org/ - information database about recreation site accessibility of many places in New York and a few outside the state, covering all kinds of accessibility. http://www.accessibleadventuresnw.com/ - videos about accessibility of recreation sites in the Pacific Northwest with a focus on wheelchair access.
I did, thanks!
Sure, feel free! I'm fairly absent due to having triplets but as long as it's mostly positive focused, feel free to post anything you like! I welcome cross-posting.
I say no, the vague anti-Semitism bothers me.
Shared on my twitter account and to /Inclusion! Good luck!
I know, I just thought it was funny to make the one they do in the show.
