i got it once and they'd got the left and right lenses backward, since then i try my glasses on upside down just in case....
the mary sue was a self insert who was so perfect that she was unrealistic, she eoften had brightly coloured hair and eyes and all the characters listened to her because they were in love with her. She was a very specific part of a writer's process. Every writer ever has at some point created a self insert who was better than they could ever be in real life - Laurel K Hamilton had an entire series of this, my bad, two, but that doesn't mean a character can't be amazing. If you're only problem with a character's capability is that it's a her and therefore is unrealistic you are suffering from a bad case of the patriarchy. Jupiter Jones from Jupiter Ascending wasn't a mary sue, she was just far too chill for what was going on around her, but that film is someone's early fanfic and that's what makes it wonderful, but when Luc Besson does it it's cinematic masterpiece
Rey isn't a mary sue, she's a character with the same capacity for brilliance as any of the male characters, she just has a different pronoun if your problem is a character is too skilled to be realistic maybe you're setting your own bar too low, so she learned to be a pilot, and given a year in seclusion with a jedi she learned to be a jedi - so did luke, he was taught by a creepy frog in a swamp yes we're going to hear that accusation and it's NOT applicable the problem often isn't that mary sues are prevalent, it's that people assume female characters are inept, and unless someone has super powers they can't be skilled. Now if someone swings in with silver pink hair and violet eyes with angel wolf Channing Tatum hanging on her every word, we can make that accusation, or Anita Blake.
Dead Snow is Norwegian, so the kids speak in their own language I tend to be leery of dubs, they're often worse than the horror movie's contents, so I didn't even check if it was dubbed. The Babadook is Australian so it's in English
If you haven't seen it Dead Snow is fun, it's a zombie movie about kids in a cabin on a winter holiday - it's subtitled though do you want scary movies or horror movies, ie movies that will make you jump or creep you out? Because Dead Snow is funny but jump scares - where something like the Babadook would make it hard to sleep. There's an old Sci Fi Horror called Hardware I remember being okay (I have really high standards) but yeah, if you can stand subs - I highly rec Dead Snow
I disagree, it was never Scott's show, he just happened to be one of the teen wolves in the show, and the hook, so seeing him fail was not as big a deal for me, but seeing him learn from it for the first time EVER that was a big deal. This is what teen wolf was, scott failing and scott losing and getting the credit for the win. Seeing the nu!pack rise is glorious and so we can agree to disagree
I send the person an IM or personal message asking if they want to talk and letting them know I'm there if they need me for whatever they need, if that's venting or offering advice, although mostly people want to be reassured that they're not alone in what they're going through, and someone cares, so sometimes the email/pm alone is enough I let them decide where to take it
Shouldn't it be wearing a leather jacket
editting - not so much fun I use so much filler talk, um, yeah, right, go on and that all had to go, at least no one had the sneezes
I think it's moon's baby
How do you define the Erlking, the Goblin King, the Lord of Shadows, about as easily as you define the Summer Queen or the Queen of Winter, it's an idea, a protomyth as opposed to a person
the erlking leads the hunt through autumn to turn summer into winter and in spring to turn winter into summer, he allows the courts to cycle, but he is the lord of the dark fae, the scary ones he's also the lord of the spiral, and that we have seen with Peter since day 1, in Lydia's visions he wrote the big mathematical spiral on the board, he draws the spiral in Visionary, the only time we see a spiral not drawn by peter is in a story peter tells.
I keep thinking of Loki in Sandman, in that he was trapped under the serpent and he tricked his way out by having Susano no Mikoto take his place and trapping him there, he was desperate and acted and gaind his freedom, but when he learned Morpheus knew he was terrified he'd be sent back,
i wonder if that's what happened, something old and tricky and manipulative that is powerful but wants to keep it's head down escaped from Peter's grave but we can't say if he's leading them until we see them in action, Peter's tricky, he could be playing both sides, but he was almost certainly the first one taken. He is the leader of the people trapped in mirrorverse
I can't remember who did the mirror verse work, I know calicokat did some, I'm going to have to read the mirror verse metas again
but wherever they are it's more a waiting room than the underworld
