That's a good idea. I have a friend that love altoids too. Maybe I can steal her tins/give her mints. Thanks!
Oh see! This is what I was hoping for. I've never seen a needle book before. Thank you! I'll have to look into then more. Nothing like this came up when I tried googling general terms
I keep having the same sort of problem for the last few months and it drives me crazy too. but you can do it! I hate when i mess up on the little things most, too.
Cool, thanks! I had no clue and just needed a second opinion. I really appreciate it!
I'm using some old scrap yarn so no materials and I'm half teaching myself how to do it and unless I mess up in a second I'd say maybe 1 1/2 to 2 hours?
That's gorgeous! I'm sorry I don't have a suggestion though. I haven't done anything like that before.
I did think of just giving her the yarn because I know she'd love it. But I think she wants something I made to wear because she just moved away and we miss each other. So I will keep trying and she will eventually get it and love it.
Good luck on learning to knit! In January I will have been knitting for a year and it's always something new.
I've done that off and on for a month, putting it aside and trying again. And they weren't even accidental yarn overs. I literally miscounted. I just feel dumb.
Yeah I thought of that but it's a good basic yarn and literally knitting and purling. Can't get much simpler than that. I even took a break yesterday to try to learn brioche stitch for a knit a long in January but I just keep making simple mistakes.
Thanks. I think I just needed to whine because, yeah, I've put it aside. I've sat in quiet to focus. I've sat determined to finish. I even started teaching someone else to knit and she's doing great while I'm floundering. I might try again in a bit because hat else will I do?
Yeah I have it to a good friend of mine and she's like 'don't be jealous when I look fabulous in it' :)
I'm trying to knit a pair of gloves for a friend's christmas and I keep second guessing the pattern but am running out of time.
I also am trying to find the right yarn to make a couple of Pokemon Go Team themed knits for a couple different presents but can't seem to find the right colors.
That is amazingly pretty! I don't have the patience for that kind of work.
Those are so cute!
I hate the colors and the pattern it made. I also really really hated knitting it when it was 3/4 the way done and only finished so I'd be done. And thanks. y friend keeps saying I surprise her by picking it up pretty fast. I just forget it fast once a project is done, too.
lol My friend who taught me wouldn't let me start with super cheap yarn. She knew I'd quit if it felt gross. (I've since used some really gross ones an she was so right) This at least feels nice. Just looking at it though is uuugggg
I just sent off a text to someone to see if she'd like it. They're her colors and everything. Fingers crossed I can pass it along soon.
I definitely get that. I ripped out a ton last month trying to find a pattern for this yarn I love. I just wasn't sure about giving it away since everyone local told me I'd regret it.
yay! I don't feel so bad then.
lol that makes me feel a lot better. I like my second project. But this one, ug. :)
Yay! Sorry just got home and saw these messages. I'm glad you found it. It's totally it. I will warn you it's had a lot of tied bits in it, I'm not sure what the actual knitting term is which is a little annoying but it knits up nice.
Oh good. I was feeling bad I couldn't recall and since I'm traveling couldn't really look it up.
It's the worst. I managed to fi ish this one only because i knew my friend would have said i didn't give it enough of a chance if I didnt. :/ also keep wanting to read those 2 authors but never quite do.
I unfortunately am one who hated this book. My friend adored it but for some reason I just didn't connect to the characters so once everything started happening I was just angry over the stupidity involved and ready for it to be over. I was so excited about it too...
I'll look those up, thanks! I keep eyeing the Hermione's Socks pattern on ravelry but I'm trying to pace myself. (I'll just pretend my carry on sitting beside me doesn't have 3 different knitting projects in it)
