Will make the phone near perfect now.
People are averaging 8 hours of screen on time which is pretty insane. I agree though I'm starting to change my usage. Basically, if I want to burn through my battery I know I can quick charge in a half hour and finish the day. Pixel XL user here but big fan of the Moto series.
It COOKS but oddly enough (and droid life pointed this out too) both performance and battery don't take a hit. I'd like to know what's causing it though.
I was in the same camp as you but now I really do love my XL. My day-to-day performance has been consistent and snappy. However, I think you bring up some valid points. I got the daydream headset yesterday which has me enjoying it even more.
Once they integrate more with Google calendar/Google apps I'm all in, but unfortunately seems rather limited right now.
Have you tried just simply removing the account through mail and then re adding it fresh? I've seen this happen with our corporate accounts from tine to time after a big upgrade.
Is it a corporate or personal account?
New home button, display is crazy good despite same pixel density from years past (colors and clarity look great), SPEED
Sure! So, the iPhone 7 products and Samsung S7 line can both be fully submerged underwater(up to 3 feet) without damaging the capabilities of the phone. This is the highest standard of waterproofing on smartphones available right now. If you were to put the Pixel or Pixel XL in a pan of water fully submerged, parts of the device might still work when you take it out, but more than likely water would get into the internals and stop the device from working properly. Typically, water spills or rain don't make their way into the device like a full soaking would.
No, they are not "proof" just "resistant".
IP53 for dust and water resistance- which essentially means if you get caught out in the rain or spill a glass of water on it you're fine. But, you cannot submerge it and expect it to work thereafter.
Easily the fastest Android handset I've tested to date. Eats up everything you throw at it. Usually if I notice a slowdown ever its app development related and not the phone itself.
I did not know you could do that until right now! Thanks for the 🔥tip
Great question! I actually tend to notice a slight difference. Which is one of the reasons I want to return the regular pixel and get the XL. The XL display is one of the best I've seen on a mobile device. Crazy sharp with good colors.
Yes battery life is decent. Getting about 3.4-4 hours on the regular pixel. Standby times are good. XL gets more along the lines of 4.5-5. No issues. But, I don't game a lot on my phone.
Absolutely incredible phone! My good friend just got one and we're meeting up next weekend so I can take a look at it for an extended period of time. My work line is on Verizon so I tend to pick phones that can be used both with my personal TMobile line and then switch out to my work line if I want to try it out hence why I really haven't given the OnePlus a shot. They definitely got it right on the third try it's just a masterpiece. All the tech reviewers can't be wrong right?
Good list there!
I don't believe so. I do have the purchased version, just haven't needed to use it in a while. Check it out if you haven't.
Have you tried Gsam battery monitor? Best in s class if you want to see what's causing issues.
Couldn't believe those were my first apps ha. I haven't rooted in years now, the skins have gotten so good it's almost like what's the point unless you need updates.
Speed is even greater when you turn reduce motion off. I haven't done that with an iPhone till the 7 (due to the original home button lag animation in the OS). Now that its fixed, I still love the speed with motion off!
Currently an iPhone 7 user here, but I own a Pixel and have used the XL extensively. It really does boil down to OS choice. Honestly (and there was an article regarding this recently), if iMessage either didn't exist, or was cross platform, the race would be a lot closer . However, that defining feature makes people continue using or come to iOS. Both phones are excellent, I have to recommend the XL over the standard Pixel though if you decide to go that route.
