LOVE the editing! I approve!
Oh, man, thanks so much for that. I think I gave up on SuiteVerse before she did--while beautiful, it was just so unrelentingly imbalanced, and that's my nope point. I had not read the comments, so I'm very grateful you teased this intended ending out of them. I'll rest a lot easier with this as the end goal.
I do love all leonidas' work. It goes very (very) dark, but there's always some glimmer of light or hope, even in the worst of it. She's a classic example, I think, of "dark."
Catharsis is something I treasure, as I often shut off my emotions in order to deal with life. It's watching something--could be a tv commercial, could be a scene in a movie, often it's Supernatural because I know those characters and feel close to their emotions--and when they deal with grief and anger and sorrow, it's like the dam breaks on my own emotions. It is a kind of gift.
Jensen as the shifter in season one was pretty amazing, too. There are glimpses of his face that are nothing at all like Dean, or Jensen--just pure evil for the sake of it. It's a shame he doesn't get to play evil more often. And I do so agree with him being awesome as a vampire. That long look at him sitting with the bloody machete, waiting for Sam and Samuel...rrrowrrr.
It really does depend on the writing. All of the above can be villainous extensions of their time on the show, or, I've seen many of them written as more sympathetic characters than they were on the show. It's just how well the author uses them.
Preferred name: call me fu
Imzy handle: fufaraw
Imzy community/personal blog: T.O.E., so far
Other current handles (Twitter/Tumblr/AO3/LJ/etc): arliss on LJ, DW, Tumblr, fufaraw on LJ, AO3
Former pseuds (how else might we have known you?): just those two
Origin of your attraction to dark fic (art/books/movies/personal experience): I overthink things, and I expect the worst.
First/favorite/most memorable dark fic you've read/written: I've read so many, it's hard to remember the first. poisontaster's A Kept Boy and A Killing Moon, destina's The Night Country, janissa11's Epiphany are a few. The Last Outpost of All That is by gekizetsu. I can't write fluffy-happy, my mind won't work that way.
Kinks/squicks: Favorite J2/Wincest dark tropes: I hate drastic imbalance of power, and I love when it gets restored. I like psychological drama, not fond of PWP--sex scenes frequently bore me and I skip 'em, whether reading or writing.
We'll have to see if our content is something acceptable on this format. By and large I think it should be, but we'll see.
