Interesting read
I don't see how putting people of color on a wall in a majority white school is political unless intolerance is a conservative issue. Likewise if there were pictures of Asians/native Americans/ white kids in a majority African American school it might be taken down and added with something representative of the kids (which would have been a fair point for the majority white school I could see) but the nature of it cannot be political.
Yeah. I just doubt anyone that would have preferred him in the name of anti-feminism or what have you won't be swayed by this horrible situation. Good talk!
Bump
But the cheese of the situation is how do you even have a moderate party on today's issues in this country? I can see it economically of course. But our democrats and conservatives bicker over social issues where the situations tend to kind of be "you are for it or you aren't". I think the best thing we can hope for is Bernie makes a new left party devoted intensely to the common man. Even if it wasn't "moderate" (though with our political polarization our perception of moderate is easily skewed) we can have a party operating in good faith without an overwhelming influence of corporations (at least initially)
Yes but to that point I would contend that the right are playing a shell game. The issues they pretend to champion have already lured their base in and the right identifies itself as contra to the left. The right has no interest in winning a fair idealogical fight that the left is endeavoring to win because they know that their ideals cannot win a fair fight. It's evident they don't care about speech, but this revelation does nothing. You cannot defeat/ sway the far right/ right in a traditional manner- unfortunately. Also, good point.
Go California!!! For once, we can use state's rights for something besides racism!!!! (Samantha bee said that. Not me)
For God's love Bernie, please create a new party and even if it means fracturing the left, break this monopoly of representation that the democrats and republicans have!!!
Thanks a bunch. I'll look into those.
23 year old biracial (white/Hispanic) college graduate in the process of getting a teaching position (currently a regular sub). Interested in these kind of issues and their importance. Don't consider myself a SJW, but again I recognize the importance of the dialogue.
I mean, Trump is going to lie. It's unfortunate he does it so openly, but he is consistent with his nonsense :D
Well reaching out theoretically would only work for people that are somewhat near you ideologically, in today's political climate people are politically very polarized and thus very difficult to actually accomplish reaching out.
I mean I think conservatives and liberals are so entrenched in their positions that they will not devour their own and the left already had disdain for him. (Though I feel liberals are more likely to self criticize).
Are conservatives really paying the price? I don't think losing Milo takes anything away besides one person that is overtly radical.
Hey zhemao. I am interested in not necessarily politics but the idealogical and positional stances of people and how it is influencing not only our world but how we are perceiving the problems and understanding the problems in our world. For instance if we all understood a problem one way and disagreed on the solution we would have discourse and would eventually solve that problem, however if society is asking the wrong question or understanding our issues incorrectly or suboptimal then no manner of problem solving will further our social collective.
Things like that are worth talking about. Also I like colors.
Yeah I hope so! From what I understand this site is like a Reddit without the rampant trolling, or that is what my friend told me.
