Oh my god, LJ, haha. I guess that could work.
"Thinking About You" by Big Scary, "The Book of Love" by the Magnetic Fields, and "Futile Devices" by Sufjan Stevens are some of my favorites for them.
Seeley's Dick is annoying as fuck. And like...you know, if it was Kory, Babs, or even maybe Helena getting kidnapped, I'd get his reaction. But he's like 'I'm going to lose EVERYTHING!' and I just. Bye.
I really loved the panel with Damian crying over Dinesh. Damian is really so soft-hearted under all the bluster. But I didn't like Dinesh being killed, that was really upsetting. I know this is a big ask for DC, but can we stop with the child death?
idk, he's rehashing Morrison's villains, but he's not giving them their own chance to shine. Although his Pyg writing wasn't half-bad. Hurt wasn't Morrison's character, but he was the first to bring him back, I think, and Seeley isn't half as interesting a writer, so I'm kind of concerned about the next issue.
is that redhead jason. are you making my dreams come true (this is super cute and i love how intense damian's eyes are in the last panel lmao)
I'm actually really tempted by the second column, hahaha.
oh my god i can totally picture this. like they just get all settled in and then damian bolts
I SAID NO PEEKING
Tomasi wrote the last bit of preboot Nightwing. #141-153 I believe. Batman RIP happens somewhere around the last couple issues.
Dude, I was reading Tomasi's run yesterday, and Tomasi's Nightwing is so, so much better. He's smart, he's funny, he's sweet. He thinks on his feet, but he also plans ahead.
My issue isn't really with Shawn. It's yet another male writer's insistence on introducing random women as love interests and then them being fridged, used for angst fodder, or turning out to be villains. No matter what Seeley does at this point, it'll be cheap and cliche.
Oh my god I am SO ANGRY about this whole Shawn nonsense. Fuck Seeley. Fuck him so hard.
Friday 10th or Saturday 11th are best for me! I'm available at any time.
Seeley was trying to write Tiger/Dick/Midnighter that whole time.
If I could only see Damian as bi, I think Dick/Kory/Damian would be great lmao. But this boy is Gay, so...(I read a pretty hot Dick/Kory/Tim once, though). I feel like Tiger's probably too smart to get involved that deep with all this Bat nonsense. I'm almost tempted to say Midnighter, but again, probably too complicated for him. Tim and Bruce are probably my faves, though I kinda like Jason and Dick being good cop/bad cop. Or...bad cop/bad cop. idk man I just think they're both so possessive of each other that threesomes are a bit tough with this pairing. I think we talked about this, but...Jason/Tim catching Dick/Damian having sex and then getting each other off while they watch them.
I'm open to any of those dates!
omg Damian and Colin in Hufflepuff! That's...so cute I love it. And yeah, the Tim-Damian conflict is part of the reason why I liked that placement.
I agree with Babs as Ravenclaw. She also has a lot of Gryffindor qualities, but she leans on her intellect the most.
I think Steph is Hufflepuff for all her hard work and determination, yeah.
I kind of like the idea of Slytherin Cass. She wants to be the best, to follow in Bruce's footsteps all the way. She's got ambition. And the whole silent piece of the night thing she's got going on...strikes me as Slytherin.
I see Helena as Gryffindor. Kind of running off the rails sometimes, bold and defiant.
Kate is so Gryffindor. I mean, that moment where she just comes out and takes the fall for her girlfriend and gets kicked out of school. She's so brave.
I know I'm sticking a lot of people in Slytherin and Gryffindor, but I honestly feel like those are natural alignments for Batfam.
I unfortunately don't really know enough about Duke or Harper to say much.
Oh man, house placements = fighting words always.
I like Slytherin Bruce, can't really argue that much unless you go for Ravenclaw, but he's just so cunning. And also the whole old money thing...I gotta go with Slytherin. Though, ooh--maybe his family opposed blood supremacy despite being an old pureblood family and that's what got his parents killed?
Dick's definitely a Gryffindor. His loyalty guides him, sure, but I also define him by being a reckless idiot, haha.
I want Damian to be a Hufflepuff because...I like his Hufflepuff tendencies best. I love that he just wants to keep Bruce and Talia together, that he wants to go home to a house full of pets, how he grows to become loyal to Dick. Slytherin feels so expected and dull.
I think Jason is a Gryffindor, honestly. Also a reckless idiot like Dick, but he's also crafty as hell. He's a Gryffindor/Slytherin split for me. The bag full of heads pushes me over to Gryffindor. Slytherins would have more class. And he just seems...very straightforward, I guess, which I see as a Gryffindor trait. And you could still have him struggling to live up to Dick's legacy that way, feeling even more like a replacement.
Tim is very clever, but he's also calculating. I fall to Slytherin for him as well.
I read a pretty solid Bruce/Dick HP AU a while ago. I think it's by Antiquity?
Still a couple weeks away. This is #16 and the Pyg cover is #18, I think?
I think Morrison wanted Damian to live and die within his own pages. I thought Flamingo was a cool character, but I didn't like Damian's homophobic comment about him. Hopefully that'll be different now.
I'm excited!! But this is still a couple weeks away, right? I'd love to see a DickBats throwback b/c I think it was confirmed that Dick was Batman in the Rebirth timeline.
Hogwarts AU. Kind of played with the Houses theme, but didn't quite do your prompt.
Spared his Muggle parents’ fate by his magic manifesting, Dick Grayson is--a miracle.
Grayson, Gryffindor, plays with Damian’s black-and-yellow scarf, knee-to-knee at breakfast. Never insinuates Damian could feel misplaced.
He doesn’t. When he’s with Grayson, he exists, and everything exists with him.
Ra’s bursts from the Boggart’s wardrobe; Grayson is first to name Damian’s childhood Dark Arts training trauma.
Spell-casting wandless, Grayson’s unfettered power makes al Ghul ambitions seem like grabs at shadows.
Grayson cracks his world open and shows him the pearl inside.
Damian lets go of blood supremacy and black ritual, of everything but his hand.
More sweater prompts!
“So that’s where my Hudson U sweatshirt got to.”
Damian’s hunched twelve-year-old shoulders drown in the huge sweatshirt.
“Keep it, I don’t care.”
Napping with Titus, fourteen, cozy private quiet.
Sparring when he’s sixteen, bunched at his elbows.
Racing him across roofs at eighteen, impromptu, still in civilian clothes.
Staring at twenty-four. Shy, like he’s the one who’s drowning. Dick pushes his hands up under the threadbare thing.
Pop.
It tears all the way up the side.
Dick buries his face--when did he get so big, so warm? Laughs and laughs until Damian kisses the joy jealously off his lips.
So I couldn't really deal with the dubcon aspect of this...as is typical with me, I went with something ridiculous instead.
Damian al Ghul is world-infamous, though not for quite the same reasons as Ra’s.
Ludicrous for him to be caught in this city. He’s trekked a hundred humid jungles, can still reliably call Gotham the armpit of the planet.
Only respite from plotting escape is watching the rotating cast of guards.
When Damian finally breaks out, Nightwing accosts him. It all feels very...planned.
Pinned to the wall, he realizes--Officer Grayson.
“You’ll be pleased to know your dad’s a vigilante who calls himself Batman.” Nightwing chuckles. “You know, as a guy only locked up for freeing zoo animals.”

DickDamiGuys, did you see the email that Imzy is shutting down? Maybe we should make a Skype or Discord group or something instead?May 24 at 11:58 AM
