I wish more people knew about this. It's a serious issue and people are usually surprised when I tell them about it.
Let's be real, gifts for my cat are really just gifts for me, because I enjoy watching her go crazy over catnip and treats... but sure, we'll say it's for her. ;)
The little boost from being productive is definitely a big thing for me! I find it's helpful to break it down into tiny tasks when I'm depressed. On a really bad day, it may just be "put one thing in the trash" or "put one cup in the dishwasher when I'm done with it." Even that little bit helps!
That looks like an interesting company. I don't have any experience with p2p lending, but it seems like a great way to diversify your overall financial picture.
She's beautiful! I love her face. She looks like she's wearing a masquerade mask.
I know how that goes! My baby is black and mildly antisocial and is SO hard to get good pictures!
Aw! I hereby extend an official invitation for you to spam all of Imzy with pictures of your lady. I'll be she's adorable.
I love Alie and Georgia!
I dig this.
I hadn't either. I'd always sort of had this idea in my head of evil foreboding places full of people who think an animal is just a number, but now I'm realizing that it's probably an absolutely heartbreaking, traumatizing job.
This is a really good point. For some mental illnesses, the advice to declutter may actually make things worse. I recently went on a decluttering spree, but it ended up triggering my OCD pretty hard. I'm just now starting to recover. Hard thing to balance!
That's a cool idea. Imzy has a tipping feature. Maybe you could experiment with publishing your story here!
What might be interesting is to partner with other authors who have written similar things. I see a lot of short story collections on Amazon, and I'll bet there would be an audience for classic literature + zombie mashups. (If you can't find other authors, maybe you could write 2-3 more stories along the same lines and put them all into one novella-length book?)
The bit about operating on the wrong part of the body hit close to home. When I was a teenager, as part of my orthodontia, I had to have a couple of teeth pulled to correct my bite. I went to the dentist and he numbed the bottom of my mouth on both sides, which was weird, because the teeth were supposed to be pulled from the top. Thank God I was confident enough to advocate for myself. I stopped him and told him exactly which teeth were supposed to be removed. He seemed puzzled and made a few phone calls, and it turned out he'd been looking at someone else's similar chart. I walked away from that appointment with a completely numb face, but at least the bottom half of my mouth stayed intact.
