Thank you for the reply. I may not have been as clear as I wanted to be (and should have been) because I was a little emotional. I guess what I was trying to say is - racism is racism; there's no competition to be the worst, and certainly no prices for not being the most racist if you're still using racial stereotypes, and I guess I see it as an old trope to blame racism on anything else - like white supremacy or other factors. That's as bad as blaming white supremacist racism on lack of education or lack of exposure. Racism goes against every fundamental concept of human equality.
Anyways, don't take it personally, it's certainly not your personal individual responsibility, it's more of a thing I've seen a lot when valid criticisms come up, that they're dismissed because of something else.
I'm sure there are people with too many people to invite than the number of invites they have - can we start a place to share our invites to those who need them from people who may have more than they need?
Black cats are adorable and totally have a bad reputation for no reason.
She's so PRETTY! And seeing how much you like her, she's lucky to have you as an owner =)
"I'm no stranger to Asian stereotypes being perpetuated by black people, I'm black. and I've been around other black people all my life. thing is, I do have a problem with how black people stereotype Asians. "
As an Asian, I find it a bit offensive you'd presume to know what it's like, as an Asian, to be stereotyped by other people when you concede that you're not Asian.
And it's pretty depressing as an Asian to see others who're also NOT Asian butting in and telling us Asian people how we SHOULD feel being stereotyped, as if our feelings and taking offence aren't valid and are the 'correct' feelings to have. I feel, as minorities, we should stick together and aspire to understand and empathize with one another, admit when we do make mistakes, and not try to pass off our flaws because they're not as large as others'.
I'm really actually put off reading the rest of the comment. I'll see if I'm in a better place mentally to finish reading later and I'll come back to it I guess.
