Have fun and travel safely! I have much envy
Love this! I have a typewriter, and it sits on my desk intimidating me. For the very reasons you mentioned, actually!
working on a YA epistolary. completely different from anything I've ever tried to write previously - no fantasy elements, just a kid trying to figure out his shitty life. But it's gotten some good feedback and I'm really enjoying writing it. Or was, until I got out of the zone and haven't been able to get back in. Tomorrow I'm off work, so it = starbucks, headphones, and WIP!
I'm actually going to take NaNo to work on my WIP this year, because I start a new one every year and never finish them. And I now have quite a few partially-written novels. :-P I am in the middle of one I really like at the moment, but I haven't written on it in months (was a rough summer!), so I think I'll just continue on that. Perhaps finish it? I'll start counting from where I left off, of course, but... yeah.
Love that!
Thanks for this post about inspiration! I tend to write, as you mentioned, for therapy. Alas, once the situation has resolved itself in some way, my entire well of inspiration dries up (like the few months I spent my daily planning period writing YA dystopia about the downfall of our country due to educational reform by the ignorant. Then I got a new job at an amazing school. I have blocked out the previous trauma so well that I cannot continue the novel).
I'm working on that, though! Because writing is seriously the best therapy.
I love these interactions :-)
