Ever since that day I've done what I can to help. When I kick the bucket, I don't want to be the person that complained to the bus driver. I want to be the person who stayed on the bus and helped out.
Sherbatov actually got YouTube famous a few years ago for scoring this against Greece at World Championships: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0xxIdPAE9E
He played in Kazakhstan last year
Reminds me of this one time I was at Disney World. The kid was autistic and had a meltdown on the bus. Some jerk goes and complains to the bus driver and they pull over at the nearest stop. Everyone, except my family, got off the bus. We stayed and tried to help the kid's mom ensure the kid that it was gonna be okay and to try and calm him down.
Yeah hockey really isn't big there except for a few expats from Russia lol. Although an Israeli player (Eleizer Sherbatov) was in KHL (best league in Europe) training camp with Dinamo Riga. (He didn't make it.)
I actually will be writing for the new SB Nation women's hockey blog!
Thanks)))
Solar Bears are an ECHL team! I believe Rob Madore, who went to my uni, played for them last year (big hint if you're trying to figure out my uni haha).
I also got the "seeing good players before they made it" perspective. Especially since the first year I went to a lot of games was the 04/05 lockout. The AHL was absolutely LOADED that year and it was so fun.
I'm a complete hipster who doesn't like the NHL - I grew up with the AHL and also follow college hockey and European hockey.
My favorite teams are the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, my university team (we're division 1 NCAA), and Medveščak Zagreb.
