Thanks for the links @Coyote and @meepalicious! I can totally relate to @forests_of_fire above, i strongly dislike being the Queer That Educates (tm), but at the same time if i absolutely have to do it, i want to be able to do it properly. Having resources like that definitely helps.
@Therapist nr 3.:YIKES and WTF. (Sure, why not just..stop..having that one problem. I'll have to remember that...) I really wonder how people like that even get that far, being a licensed therapist and all that. You would think that not denying the clients experiences and telling them what they are feeling (instead of oh, maybe listening to them?) would be the first things you learn in training. Sorry you had to go through that! But your regular therapist seems really amazing.
Yup, if anyone has links, would very much like to read that.
Hey everyone! I'm Nelly, 28, ace, probably aro-spec maybe panromantic..demi..pan? Eh who knows. Cis female (she/her), but have also lately been kind of questioning that (maybe leaning more towards nonbinary/agender idk yet). I'm from Germany and working as a freelance illustrator (mostly childrens animation atm) and working on an illustration degree.
I'm obviously a pretty big art/animation/comics etc geek. I love drawing, hanging out with my puppy, watching movies and reading (currently re-reading all my Discworld favourites), lots of it mythology and/or feminism stuff. Or creepy things :)
I'm pretty excited about this bc I've never really been able to connect with the ace community. I've always found the tumblr system horribly unintuitive for connecting with other people. Also, I've visited the german Aven forum just a couple of times and it always seemed like a pretty, well let's just say not very open and/or safe space unfortunately. And where i live, i can only dream about RL meet-ups. So I'm hoping Imzy will be different!
