This is fantastic!! May I suggest a classic fake relationship trope?
Hahaha!!! That's adorable!
This is fantastic! The artwork from the last one was so beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Nice!!! Thank you for sharing this with the community!
This is so great! I can't wait to look through it!
Just imagine them trying to make Dwarven/Elvish fusion dishes!!! Maybe some dishes made with Elven herbs and flavors using Dwarven methods. They could accidentally create a whole new fad in food, just because they keep trying to tweak each other's food! XD
And I've always thought that Elves probably do still eat meat (aside from individual choices), mostly because there is a Valar specifically for hunting. So I've never really agreed with the movie presentation of Elves only eating veggies. shrugs still, that's just a preference.
So glad to hear from you! And no worries about things not being posted the day the topic is. The dates are more to keep me on schedule!
I could see them dissolving into bickering over strength and eating so clearly! Haha!
I like the image of Gimli doing most of the cooking. It seems like a craft he would be proud of.
My headcanon on Elves eating may be different, but I agree about Legolas mostly eating Lembas while on the road. I wonder if they have found any dishes from each other's cultures they enjoy?
Awww yiss!!! Excellent update!!!
That is very fun stuff! I like! I can definitely see how all of this would be inspiring!
That looks perfect for Magic Meat Week! I mean, it's chain to show off strength and status, but still allows for plenty of movement, right? ;P
Oh! I enjoy Magic Meat Week so much! I hope you have time to do a little something for it (I would love to see). I know I won't have time this year, but I'm still proud of the butt I drew on Legolas last year! (They asked for skimpily dressed elf princes... how could I resist!)
Do you have any thoughts of what you'd like to do?
To start us off, here is a song that gives me so many gigolas feels! It really gets the loving and noble idiots vibe they can sometimes have.
Boats & Birds - Gregory & the Hawk
It's like there is a verse specifically designed for Gimli to sing to Legolas, and a second for Legolas to sing to Gimli!
He will be sorely missed! This show is one of the things that my mom and I share together, and he always made us smile.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Vaughn.
Yeah. Although I would bet the Greenwood would have better game (or at least use too). Not to mention they have closer trade with Lake Town and Dale, so probably a greater variety of seafoods as well. After all, I don't think I've ever been anywhere that didn't have its specialties.
Makes me wonder about spices though. It seems like Gondor would have an easier time trading for distant spices, (when they aren't warring with those areas). But what about salt? How do they obtain that? Is there an area that has salt mines? Or peppercorns? Is Arda doomed to have bland food?
I agree with there being plenty of hearty vegetarian options. And it does seem rather arbitrary in the movies.
Now I'm imagining that Elves actually host these big multi-course meals when emissaries from other lands visit.
To kick things off, I headcanon that quite a few populations of Elves eat meat (despite movie depictions). This is mostly because there is a valar of hunting, and I just can't see them letting any fruits of the hunt go to waste.
YES THAT FIC!!! (I can't believe we're getting a sequel!)
Nice to meet you, Miri! Oooo! I love AUs and the touch of the fantastical! Sounds like a version I'd like to hear about! And perfect timing with the recs. I'm just about to post the Friday Fic Rec thread, so that would be the perfect place to link the doc so everyone sees it! :D
Science! and gigolas together! Such a fun combo!
Best of luck to you! That's quite an undertaking!
And that really does sound sweet!
I like this idea quite a bit! I may not really do nanowrimo (or fully understand it), but I would happily join in any writing chats. (maybe I could finally get that sequel I've been planning done. Or finish on of my WIPs... I've got more work than I originally thought -_-U )
Hi, Seas! Glad to have you here! And agreed. These two have some stones to go against everything they have for each other!
I've never been able to stick to a schedule, so I've never tried nanowrimo. I'll be cheering on everyone who is! But the virtual write in sounds interesting. Tell me more?
I hope it goes well! I know I've made playlists on there before, but they always start breaking down.
I've actually been thinking about having members here post songs for a giant gigolas play list. So if you have any songs in particular in mind, I hope you'll share them! (Or just enjoy the music and the feels!)
Oh wow! Now that's a really cool idea! I wonder what would determine the type of tree?
