I grew up in a rather secular household, superstitions were only mentioned jokingly, and they were boring things like the meanings of different kinds of cutlery falling on the floor, or the classic bad luck from breaking a mirror. I drop forks or break mirrors so often that I must be immune.
I was also taught spiders bring luck and killing a spider does the opposite. I'm grateful for that, it helped me get over my fear of spiders as a kid, and now I love and appreciate those animals.
I've also heard you have to look the other person in the eye when clinking glasses, but nobody gave me a reason for this tradition, and I gladly do it anyway because it feels nice. The "seven years of bad sex" thing sounds like something recently made up.
I'm sorry if I contributed to anything negative happening, but so far there's no evidence of that, just our own assumptions. I have faith in open communication. And Imzy is not as bad as the rest of the Internet, yet.
I'm not sure why that's a bad thing. Can you explain?
I just thought it could be useful to name the community in order to have more context and to bring it to people's attention if the leadership were a complete disaster. This case however, I personally wouldn't even call OP out on it, I mean it's clearly not the best time for this. Maybe if they continue making leader-tagged posts in the future, try convincing them again that it's not respectful to other members. Also, making an alternative community is still an okay plan.
So what's the community? No need to leave the name out of this. Imzy is still really new and we don't know yet which communities will be active and popular once the site matures. The ones with poor leadership probably just won't - people will notice and abandon the communities that have incompetent leaders who power trip and don't listen to reason. I don't think it's petty at all to start another community with the same purpose. You'd only be making Imzy a better place for everyone.
Hi! Well the community exists and there are plenty of subscribers, and even uphearts to your post, so I assure you there is interest. Maybe most are just curious like myself and don't have that much to contribute. I'd be totally into all that stuff you mention though.
I loved it, even though I saw through it far too early. Same with episode 6... I think my brain is all sci-fi'ed up and thinks the same way the writers do.
But holy shit San Junipero was beautiful. All that detail! And yes, the soundtrack! It would be a good starting point for new viewers actually, something that's melancholic but not bleak or completely fucked up like many others.
Oh I'm just wondering if I've ended up joining some kind of happiness cult.
No. And this is a bit creepy.
These people are heroes. "Every time I go out now, nine times out of ten I will come back with a brick."
I agree, my Imzy experience got so much better after I left some of the most popular communities (Polls was one of them) that didn't really offer me anything.
I have however joined a ton of communities that are specific to my interests. Most are dead or dying, but at least this way I can give them a chance and see what becomes of them.
Those ads are worse than I thought and should definitely be called out, I mean they kinda sound like they were actually made by some bitter anti-feminist. The campaign makes no sense at all.
I also feel like I just got negative-advertised-to cause I had never heard that name before. The bags are ugly anyway though.
I don't know what you did, but okay, apology accepted.
Also, I'd like to apologize for teasing the boy I had a crush on in middle school, for never returning library books on time, and for pretty much everything I did in 2010.
I love how both the quoted journalist and the officials try so very hard to fit into the rational & atheist discourse by making it seem like the rock was cleaned only to honor 'culture' and people's beliefs (always other people's, of course), when in reality everyone knows bloody well that the existence of elves in Iceland is a fact and they will fuck shit up when you piss them off.
Same here, but I'm kinda jealous about it.
Cause @Dan is being cheeky and doesn't want to acknowledge us heretics.
Seeing the list, I just realized I am utterly bored with Tim Burton and I'd be a great disappointment to the teenage goth I once was.
Moz sounds really good, but this feels wrong somehow. Maybe cause I can see the old guys looking like they're doing karaoke after a day at the office. It's a lazy crowd pleaser. But at least the crowd is pleased.
Holy fuck, yes! Your voice is killer. Can we get the lyrics?
So this is in your opinion a "mind-blowingly ridiculous" news story? A mentally ill woman burned and suffocated to death. Fuck this post and fuck the daily mail.
So despite being a leader, you can't make it public again?
Is this an intended feature, Imzyteam?
edit: I see, I don't think it sucks anymore. It's good.
I've probably said my mind/brain is broken or ill or dysfunctional, so I could also say "I" am broken. It sounds kinda dramatic though, I prefer sounding pragmatic. Other than that, I don't really see anything negative or shameful about the term.
I don't believe I'm in the right country to get those, but I submitted anyway.
