I loved that part too! "Well, THAT'S a room full of nightmares!" Something about the way Leslie Jones said that line was just gold.
I'm really into the Tudor era, particularly Elizabeth I and the various figures who surrounded her. Patty's "I read a lot of non-fiction" really resounded with me, since I get genuinely excited when a writer I love comes out with a new biography of William Cecil even though I have nine books on him currently on my shelf!
Patty, because we hobbyist historians have to stick together! Plus she's just awesome.
Four hours??? For real??? That just went to the top of my list of things I want.
Maybe it's because I don't have a tumblr and am pretty much surrounded by women 24/7 (lesbian, teach at an all-girls school) but I've manged to avoid most of the backlash. Have to be careful what I google though!
I think this may turn out to be one of those fandoms where I'm happy with any and all combinations of people so long as everyone is happy. I can't see any BAD combinations.
Huge hugs for you, if you want them!
If Ghostbusters is eligible for Yuletide, I'm so requesting this. I'll give more typical prompts as well, but I can't not prompt my crack OTP!
My dad and I used to watch the original movie together almost every time I stayed with him as a kid. I always looked forward to it, because at my mom's house I was only allowed to watch g-rated, age-appropriate stuff, but at my dad's we watched Ghostbusters (which I thought was a horror movie) and there was popcorn with real butter. Needless to say, I have a real soft spot for the franchise!
Aww!
Would you give your wife a high five for me please?
And Kevin is apparently partial to sandwiches. All in all, this office would have one hell of a lunch buffet.
But... but... but...
I understand your previous commitment. I still want both these things.
Right??? And so he starts trying to win her over by finding her a hypoallergenic cat (which he's decided she wants) or declaring his love inappropriately to random people who call the office. And he finally wins her over when he's able to secure her an order of wonton soup with an entirely reasonable ratio of wontons to broth.
...I may have over thought this.
She'll need a good surname go with it. Something kind of Bond-girlesque? Slimena du Slimee?
I nominate Slimette and Slimena!
Taking it one step further, I totally got it when Abby could only think of 'soup' as a reason to live when talking to Ronan. Soup is awesome.
Loved Patty's 'salad' follow-up too!
I loved Slimer and Lady Slimer too! They were having such a good time.
For other pairings, Patty/Holtzmann is quickly becoming my favorite. Plus I have an embarrassing secret love of Abby/Kevin. I just like the idea of him confusedly falling for one of the few women on Earth who doesn't see how hot he is.
Advice like 'go on, publish the book! Erin will cope.'? Because I would love that. Especially if her goal was the get the women talking again.
In terms of everything you are but can;t shake, that's Abby with me. Her unrelenting hope that this time, THIS TIME, her soup will be correct? I totally got that.
I'd like to be a contributor please!
I'm definitely up for this conversation too! Which GB was your favorite, if you had one? I really enjoyed all of them, but if I had to choose I think Patty stayed with me the most.
