• Yes, I own the blog.

  • It should be possible to choose. And it should not be just newest/best, but it should be like on reddit - hot, new, top of all time/year/month/week/day. Reddit has solved the perfect content discovery system, no need to reinvent the wheel, just implement that, it's the best.

  • Thanks!

  • Thank you! I'm glad you like it =)

  • Hahaha, that was amazing)

  • I really love Imzy, I think it looks great and has a huge potential, though there's a lot of things that you could improve.

Here's a few thoughts that I have so far:

    1. The most important feature that's missing right now is ranking posts by hot/new/top, like on reddit. I think it's extremely important for content discovery. Without it, there's no way to filter for quality, and in big communities great posts will quickly be buried by a lot of low quality stuff. It's a big problem on Google Plus that makes their communities pretty much useless.

    2. I would love to be able to subscribe to individual users. And send PMs. Also - add some personal info to my profile(like a tagline and a link to my website).

    3. The design looks good, but I think it can be made way more elegant and convenient:

      • Hide the sidebar with the list of communities under hamburger menu, like on the mobile version, most of the time it's not needed and feels distracting.

      • Home/About/Rules/Leaders tabs seem unnecessary and just clutter the interface. I think it makes sense to just have an "About" button in the header(near the Join button), and Rules/Leaders tabs could be just links on about page.

      • "Add text/link/twitch/image/podcast" section also seems unnecessary. Just like with About section, simply have a "Submit" link in the header - you can choose the post types on the submit page anyway. Or just have neat and simple "Write here" box above the feed, like on Medium, I think they've done it perfectly.

      • If it were me, I'd move the like button and the user/community avatar into the post footer, instead of having a separate column for them.

      • Increase the font size to make it more readable, now it's way too tiny.

    4. On the submit page - I would move "community" and "username" fields to the bottom of the page, and keep title and text at the top(seems more natural).

    5. I would love it if the user's page would look more like a blog(like on Medium), with well designed and readable posts. I think that would be relatively easy to implement and would be much better than just activity stream.

Basically - when it comes to functionality learn from reddit, when it comes to design - learn from Medium. I understand that you probably want to differentiate from reddit, but there's a lot of things that they have simply done right, and it makes sense to just copy them.

Of course, all these things are just personal opinions, though I'm pretty confident that they would make the website much more awesome and convenient to use.

This post is getting too long, but if you're interested I'll be happy to send more feedback/ideas/suggestions.

  • Great, let's do this then =)

  • Thanks! I didn't know about your community, I've checked it out, it looks great! Already joined =)

Are you planning to focus your community more around feedback on art and ideas? I'm want my community to be forcused more about tech projects, like Show HN or Product Hunt. Maybe that's how we could go about it?

  • I want lumiverse to become the perfect place for people to publish, discover and discuss great educational videos. I want to build a friendly and intelligent community, make it easy for video creators to find an audience, and make it easy for viewers to discover awesome videos. In the future, I want to expand into other types of content(starting with tutorials, art, short films, and comedy), and create the most awesome platform for hosting and selling high quality video series.

I would really love some feedback! =)

  • Hi! Thanks for inviting me =) Yeah, it's pretty great. I'm trying to write every day, and I'd totally benefit from some useful feedback.

  • Hey everyone! Super happy to find a community of harmenians over here =)
