• Oh perhaps you are correct. Admittedly, it's a bit 'chicken and egg' in my head. At any rate, good to have met you and glad to know you now! MISS YOUUUUU!!

  • Hmmmm... to my recollection, we met up BECAUSE of our association in the AD chat room. But it was so long ago, I can't quite remember. Either way, we met, had fun, and long to have fun again! (one day...)

  • The thing I value the most about this site is the fact that it operates much like a message board. If we're trying to get in touch with each other, and time zones/jobs/life intercedes, this site makes it most convenient to leave each other messages.

Other than that, I can't really think of too much we can do in here that we don't do in the chat -- excepting that here, our discussions on various topics remain here presumably in perpetuity. This way, if someone had a wonderful point about something or had provided a link to a specific resource that was needed for research, then a) everyone would have access, and b) there would be no need to worry if you lost the link/ forgot the point.

  • You may have noticed that I've become obsessed with the Harry Bosch series of books by Michael Connelly. They're very Raymond Chandler/ Dashiell Hammett in a way, certainly heavily inspired by both of these authors.

The thing is, the 'film noir' feel aside (and my utter rapture with the main hero aside), I am intrigued by Connelly's ability to plot out a crime novel. I grew up reading mystery, but I can never tell where his books are going. I love that I can't guess them ahead of them.

One of these days I'm going to take one of these books and rip it apart to find out how it works.

Until then, I'm just going to enjoy the stories. They're tremendous.

  • Deny all you want, but your influence is powerful and evil! EVIL, I tell you!

  • It's all Vulgarweed's fault. I wouldn't be here if Vulgar hadn't peer pressured me into it. It's the only reason I showed up. Without Vulgar's influence, I would be blissfully ignorant of this whole damn site. But Vulgar would not be denied.

VULGARWEED, ALRIGHT?! I LEARNED ABOUT THIS PLACE BY WATCHING VULGARWEED!

    sobs uncontrollably

  • And I like the idea that if the person you needed to reach wasn't in chat at the time, you'd have a space to leave a message for them that they could respond to at a later time. Can't wait until there are more of us on here. I think as that medium alone, it would serve a wonderful purpose.

  • Wasn't expecting the 'message board' feel to this site.

  • Well here I am. looks around I don't like the wallpaper. breaks out the scrapers
