Must...finish...first...one....
Spaceship MOBA
This should be kinda fun, I expect!
I got the same.
Also, you need to enter the code on the VOUCHER tab at the bottom of the cart view. I'm a little dense today, so it took me longer to figure that out than it should have : /
I read about this on mo.com earlier and the comments were surprisingly civil AND very disappointed that it SOUNDS like there's little to no PvE, and is mostly PvP. But there's also little to no solid info so...
Thanks for the reminder! I got the key at work and emailed it home, but forget to activate it until now.
I HAVE D2 on physical media (whaaa?) and it's aiight.
I didn't know what it was called, so I had to look up the name via "colonial dice games". That lead me to Amazon, and MAN, they have some really sexed up versions for sale!
I know that @Arislyn is a fan of...I'll probably get this wrong...Dofus. They recently had a server merge which brought the population up significantly according to her. I believe that is free to play.
There's also Adventure Quest, which I've only tried a little. Browser based, but also with a mobile client. I believe they play in the same world which might help with population.
Those are two free options that I can think of off the top of my head, although moving up a tier brings us into the more complex but still free arena. There's a lot of complex freemium games (free to play with optional sub for more perks, or straight up buy to play). Other folks might be able to come up with some other suggestions like OSRS if you'd rather something along those lines.
What kind? You've got AAA and under the radar titles. Eastern and Western titles. High fantasy or sci-fi titles. Hardcore MMO or titles that are MMO like...All kinds!
Well...yeah :D I thought about just hauling ass over there and hoping that I don't get killed on the way. I think that might be my only recourse.
Oh, I dunno if they're going multiplayer-only, but from the article it sounds like those are the kinds of experiences they're going to promote. They already promote the heck out of every new CoD release, for example.
And I can see it being "an option". I don't doubt them when they say that they believe in the idea that social gaming is a definite positive, and that they want their platform to be the go-to place for those experiences.
But for those people for whom those experiences aren't positive, or aren't the reason why we game, then the XB team is almost talking a different language.
Awww man...I only played for a little while, but I might see if I can do this. I have my disk around somewhere...
What is with Japan and the fascination with getting stuck in a virtual word?
Some friends came over last night to try it out, and they were suitably impressed. We played things from the demo disk, like RIGS (arena shooter sport kinda game), BattleZone (Tron-like tank battle game), and of course Job Simulator
I don't have it on PS4, but I don't know if I could handle getting ambushed by dinosaurs in VR XD
XD
Right now the roster isn't SUPER impressive no matter where you go. I opted to go with the PSVR also because pretty much everything available for it is a game of SOME level of minimal quality. A lot of the stuff I saw on PC looked (to me) like someone's artsy "proof of concept" product. So I'm hoping that PS devs bring more actual games and fewer "concept" pieces.

Like so?
The only way RIGHT NOW is to see what's there, and what's on deck. PC games on Steam tend to be "let's do SOMETHING and get it out there!" quality. At least with the PS4 they have to pass a "is this actually a game and not some silly crap you slapped together just to get your foot in the door?" test to get listed. But that also means that QUANTITY-wise, there's not much on the PS4 right now.
This month's Game Informer has an article on VR, and lists several games that are on deck. Of course there's the requisite jump-scare survival horror games, the FPSesseses, and the weird exercise-as-games games, but nothing that really screams MUST HAVE.
Everything I've been reading, then, says that it takes about 2 years to get a decent AAA title out the door (probably low end AAA, but AAA nonetheless), and VR dev kits have only been available for about 2 years (starting with Oculus). So that gives us MAYBE another year's leeway for A) the tech to improve, B) the requirements to drop, and C) the price to decrease if they want people to get on board.
Empirically, that's an awesome game for VR. Mentally, I know the first time I'd turn around to find a T-Rex or raptor bearing down on me I'd probably have a heart attack XD
This is my thinking as well. I don't use the PS4 enough right now, and among the games I see on there that are VRable, I like a few, but not "drop everything else and do nothing but that" many.
+1 for electroswing
FINALLY!
Excellent. Thank you!
