"Agreed" "could have been worded better" "should be brought to their attention"
God, this place is weirdly un-Reddit-esque. :>
Most of this feels like, well... good management in general?
There are certainly sailent points for dev work, but in general it seems like it breaks down to;
1-The flashy direct reports are not to be trusted, at least solely on their flash
2-Maintain your product/clients/code/process
3-Give employees ownership of their work
4-Look for leaders on your team
5-Don't be fooled by numbers, graphs, or quarterly reports
6-Create and maintain a good work environment
7-Give employees a degree of freedom, both in work and employment
8-Be responsive and engaged with your employees, and measure performance from those interactions
9-Be a humble manager
10-T-Shirts are ok
Muni. Shouts out to municipal, which is where actual change happens, sounds like "moonie" which refs both space exploration and weird modern history events, and has the same friendly phonetic ending (hard E).
Go ahead say it; "Oh, the Elon / Schmidt slashfic imzy group is my favorite muni". Yeah.... Feels good.
Ozymandian
