1) Seven. AO3 for the most part, there's a few on my tumblr
2) I'm super enjoying Dust in the Wind, but I think So He Stayed is better in terms of concept.
3) Totally depends on the length of the fic and what the plan is. The one shots don't get much planning other than double checking canon. Dust is pretty constrained by canon, but some planning happens. Sam Browning (unpublished) got a full outline, bullet points and everything.
4) I really admire folks who can post as they go, but that is totally not something I can do. There are entire chapters I've removed because a shorter version worked better in a different spot. Even with a full outline. I have an extensive plan, but there's room for improv. There has to be.
5) Wayward Daughters Leverage AU. I even laid it all out, but I have no desire to commit the work. I just want it to appear.
Like normal, full details can be found on my tumblr, but...

Nothing Lasts Forever posted to AO3 with a deleted scene, After-School Special, posted to my tumblr
this.
I say 100% as I'm staring at a copy of paradise lost ( technically, still fanfic) and the Poetic Edda (need to imitate the style for a fic).
1) Literally, Nothing Lasts Forever. Season 4 of Dust in the Wind, my hellatus coda series.
2) Doesn't everyone want an episode tag or coda for every single episode of SPN?
3) Early Hellatus Rewatch 2014 (I was rewatching again in preparation for watching Season 10 in real time. My first.) I did the math on when Adam was conceived vs. what was happening in the flashbacks in Something Wicked. And damn near lost my shit.
4) Cas is the hardest to write, but is also probably the most interesting. Maybe the one chapter we get from Jimmy's POV.
Like normal, I'm using NaNo as an acceptable reason to turn down social events in November. I'll be writing, but i'm not even going to aim for 50k. The plan was to get next summer's hellatus fics started, but now that I'm thinking about it? I might see if I can finish Sam Browning. Because I've been working on it for nearly a year and I'm kinda sick of looking at it.
2 fics published! November 2, 1983 (which was joss'd within 5 minutes of the season premiere) and Don't Hang On (part 3 of Dust in the Wind).
1765 words added to Sam Browning, finishing chapter 7. Revised chapter 8's outline and got second draft outlines for 9-11.
(totals: Wrote 2390 words, edited and published 6534, outlined 3.5 chapters)
at home (normally in my room, but sometimes at the kitchen table) ebook, and more than that, almost exclusively fanfic anymore right now, I'll write whenever I get a chance. Tends to be evenings and saturday afternoons right now, but really? As long as I have a cup of coffee handy, i'm a happy camper.
Pen and Paper all the way. For the things that have a plot anyway. Even those mostly start as 2-3 sentence blobs that evolve into something usable. Once I start writing it, I normally get 1 or 2 scenes done, figure out where I'm going, then outline the hell out of it, on paper. I like outlining on paper because it means if i scratch something out, it's not actually gone, so I can have an easier time recalling what it was when it turns out to not work in chapter 5 but work brilliantly in chapter 8. Or whatever.
When I'm happy with my outline on paper, I type it up and start a folder on google docs with the project name. Once that happens, it's off to the races. Or... snail crawl, whichever. And then within 2 chapters the outline has been thrown out and set on fire, but at least I know where the story is going and the steps I'm using to get there by then.
I'm not sure if this is also what you meant, but for fic idea pre-outlining:
Things that I'm not ready to use yet (busy with other projects, not sure where it's going, not it's time) get tossed onto Google's virtual post-its until I know what's happening with it.
That's what the fic portion of that file looks like currently. It's all over the place. There are transcripts from IM convos I have with my coworkers, simple 'oh, for this episode's tag, it should be this', proper fic ideas, everything that's related to fic. If something needs more than one note, it'll get assigned it's own tag to go along with the standard 'fic ideas' tag.
I thought I did too, but I just finished 80% of my minimum writing goal in a 1k1h, so maybe not.
I've only read a couple, but have loaded several more onto my e-reader to read as time allows.
(geez, I wish I could filter my history. That would make this so much easier)
Let the Waters Rise which is amazing and sad and made me cry. Around the World in 24 Days by Mittens. Because Project Beyonce/ Tumblr Anonymus is a great universe and everyone should read it. (It's not necessary to read the first several parts of the 'verse to understand the fic, but you should anyway.) (I feel like I'm missing one, but I don't know that it would be and it's not showing up in my history.)
Those are the only ones I've read so far. On deck are: The First and The Last Written in Ink The Moonlighter and the Magician
So far. I'm sure there's others.
Oh! spreadsheets! I've been thinking about doing something along these lines so thanks!
and... a couple of posts that just came up on my tumblr dash:
Rennie Advice for Fantasy writing
Helpful Things for Action Writers to Remember
These are both geared more towards writing fantasy/ historical fight scenes, but probably a good thing to see anyway
I feel like I'm rubbish at them, but I'm not sure I've ever published one to get outside feedback on it? (If I have, it was back when I was still writing for Roswell... which we do not discuss.)
The story that has combat is also focused pretty tightly on Sam's POV. And... he just doesn't notice things, or I have a bunch of combat happening while he's out of the room. Which I think is about as good as I'm going to get for a while. Better verbs, tunnel vision, and confusion when a different character drops in to save his ass.
(related, anyone have any good methods for keeping track of injuries? Because I have no idea that doesn't involve a physical post-it... which only works if I'm working on my computer instead of my work computer.)
1) I started, but never finished, Imprudence by Gail Carriger. I ground out about a third of the way through. I read Slaughterhouse- Five a couple months ago, but I'm almost entirely fanfic right now and have been for over a year. (Because I may know Dean and Cas are going to end up together by the end, but the authors don't try to be coy about it. Unlike Imprudence, which assumes I'm an idiot. '2 young women and 2 young men are on a boat. 1 young woman and 1 young man are twins. Everyone is straight. Who is going to end up together?')
2) I am a complete SUCKER for either full-shift werewolves (shapeshifting? yes.) or the flower shop and tattoo artist. I don't even care if the author has only the barest grasp of a sentence. If it's one of those? I'll read it.
3) The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. Hands down, no questions asked.
I've never tried because I don't understand how they work? But that's as much a failure of my understanding of social media as anything else.
(also, I never write that fast.)
I try to always leave kudos, minimum. If I'm on my computer, I'm pretty good about remembering to leave a comment (even if it's just squee and flailing around). If i'm reading on my phone or my nook? Those get woefully under commented on. Particularly the nook, since it doesn't have internet access.
you, sir, still owe me life-affirming blowjobs. And have for 14 chapters.
mostly because I can't write a decent sex scene to save my life. So... I (not so) gracefully fade to black... or just imply it without it ever being obvious.
long version, like always, has been shared with the comm through post and is also on my tumblr. but!
Don't Hang On edited and sent to beta. Approximately 2000 words added to Sam Browning.
I /aim/ for present tense most of the time. What comes out? well... that kinda depends on the day. But that's what editing is for right?
(i have literally switched tense mid-sentence before. And then switched back in the next.)
THIS! If I post as I write it, how I am I supposed to go back to chapter 3 and plagiarize myself because it works better in chapter 5? (Good on those who can, but I'm way too insecure about all this as it is.)
I'm knee deep in creating a new playlist for writing right now: SPN Episode titles. Which is pretty entertaining. Certainly means I'm hitting up the library for a bunch of music I don't normally listen to (Misfits, Jay-Z, Johnny Cash)
Mostly though? 8track's tagged either supernatural and/or apocalypse
give me all the StarWars/ SPN crossovers.
(I feel like I need to preface this with A) Yes, I'm a monster; and B) I'm writing the Rising of the Witnesses right now in Sam Browning. Rich is Jessica's dad.)
“It’s your fault we’re dead, you know.” It’s almost conversational, Rich standing in front of Sam while he guards the door to Ash’s bedroom. “All you had to do was change our dinner plans, and Karen and I would still be alive. Instead, we roasted. Trapped by a fallen table, the air turned poisonous, and we roasted, slow. How many other people died the same way?” Sam takes a half-hearted swipe with the crowbar. “How many of your parents are going to burn, Samuel?”
