AMV is very much still the term in the (highly active) anime vid editing community. Lyricstuck is something totally different I've never actually encountered before. AMV is even what youtube viddders/editors working with anime canons use. Most dedicated anime cons will run an AMV contest, called that specifically, and I know that Otakon runs a room exclusively for AMV-centric screenings and panels all three days.
It's one of those cases of parallel development where the separate terminology has hung on, rather than the editors getting subsumed into Western vidding culture like what happened with the separate slang and notation in anime fic-writing fandom.
If I'd had any fresh rosemary, I would definitely have added it!
Not at all, I wouldn't think. I didn't find this particularly garlicky at all, honestly.
I forgot to add this to the post, but next time I'll sprinkle a little cayenne in, too. A little kick of heat would be really nice in the puree.
Oh, I feel you. I actually hate raw celery flavor, so I do the tiny dice to make sure it all cooks into the background without giving me huge mushy pieces (my personal texture issue).
This looks pretty delicious, and I'll have to give it a try. (I wonder how it'd be with sweet Italian sausage instead of beef. It looks like the flavors should meld pretty well.)
Oh good! I was just thinking that I needed to point you at this if you hadn't already seen it.
I've made it. You're basically making ricotta using lemon as the acid, which does give the cheese a distinct, albeit light, lemony flavor. It's super easy -- you can watch the curds form as the milk heats, so it's almost impossible to screw up -- and I definitely recommend it. You can also easily do smaller batches in the microwave if all you want is one meal's worth.
Also, the whey can be saved to use for cooking, feed to pets, or drink yourself. There's a lot of nutritious stuff left in it after you separate out the curds.
Whole. I usually use salted, roasted nuts and just dump them straight in out of the container.
Like I said, I make it a lot because it really is absurdly delicious for a quick weekday dinner. Hope you enjoy it!
Oh! Almost forgot to mention that I like to throw in onions and carrots with the apples, fennel, and sweet potatoes, because their flavor melds well and they add a bit more variety. You can really do just about any vegetables you think go well with roasted apples.
(If you want something more elaborate and have any ground pork or cuts you'd rather grind than eat whole, http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/pork-and-apple-pie-with-cheddar-sage-crust-368089 is another favorite pork and apple combination, just a lot more time-consuming. It makes an absolutely enormous pie, though, be warned. You can easily halve the recipe and still have more than enough food.)
A good rule of thumb is that most cuts are going to need to be cooked low and slow with plenty of seasoning until the connective tissue breaks down. Exceptions are basically chops, tenderloin, and loin roast. For the chops, pan fry them in a flavorful sauce. Since we're coming up on apple season, maybe give this one a go. I make it a lot in the fall and it's really easy and delicious (plus it makes plenty of sauce that can and should be poured over the roasted veg): http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/cider-dijon-pork-chops-with-roasted-sweet-potatoes-and-apples-51163600
I just really want more discussion (and speculation). The series is getting to a really interesting place and I'd love to talk about so much of it and blather about where I think it seems like it could be going.
I'm a nonny, but for me that means that I recognize the challenges of anonymity as well as the benefits. I think there needs to be some way to deal with anons, because harassment and community disruption will happen. I'd prefer to see both the option to personally block anon comments from a user, separate of blocking their pseuds (blocking a pseud should also block anon comments from them, since Imzy tracks identity in the background in a way livejournal, does not but the converse should not be true) AND the ability for mods/leaders to ban anons from posting to communities. On LJ, we have IP tracking, which allows mods to track disruptive anons in a semi-persistent fashion. It helps them keep the community functioning. Imzy doesn't have that, so the ability to ban anons is a necessary alternative.
