that is super adorable!
Oh my gosh that's perfect!
Hi, I go by Duke on in the internet. I'm 24, working full time in agriculture and I'm ace with a lot of ????? about romantic things. Gender was leaning towards non-binary for a while but swung back towards female so she/her pronouns. Currently living with my best friend and we have a cat and a dog, so something like a commited platonic partnership. Or something. We're both very Bad At Words so we've never really discussed it.
I'm living on the Delmarva Peninsula, which is fairly rural despite having a city at every entry point. I grew up on a farm in PA, agriculture and plants are my jam. When I'm not gardening or working, I'm reading, playing video games and volunteering at the local animal shelter. I haven't been super involved in asexuality discussions before because I didn't want to use my personal tumblr for it, but never wrote enough for a side blog. I like the discussion base that imzy seems to bring.
I'll say as someone who's been a member of that meetup group for close to a year, I haven't been to a single one. I'm over on the eastern shore and cross the bridge maybe once a month. Reasons why I haven't gone include the issue of finding parking, unknown cities (I've never been to Baltimore and the first time I went to DC was last weekend when a friend drove), and most importantly, traffic. Crossing the bridge is such a pain, which is why I never really go to Annapolis even.
idek, that's not anyone's fault, I just feel frustrated sometimes because I drive a lot over here for work, so at the end of the day, I don't want to drive far for fun. I'm also not sure of how many aces are actually over here because of how farm focused/rural it is. The local PFLAG is pretty small and mostly works with the high school and college kids who will leave the area anyway.
As for meetups, the idea of doing something at the meetup, whether its walking around, or doing an activity, a museum or something like that is what I would like to do. Sitting around and talking seems nice but I've tried things like that before and I don't do very well at them.
But it looks like you guys have a lot of fun and do interesting things!
Yeah those maps look really cool!!
Yes! They weren't sure what else is in her but she's great
At least a mix! They aren't super sure.
I think the other thing to note is that another community exists on here already, Asexuality and Aromantics. It seems to be some of those 101 discussions and topics about when did you discover you were ace, support, etc. Not sure if it will evolve as time goes on, but its there.
Echoing the other folks on here, 201 discussions would be great! There are some bloggers on tumblr that do some of it but because of my sleep/work schedule, I very rarely see them cross my dash. Once they're past, they're hard to find and if reblogs are happening, its harder to get the context, especially if they've nested weirdly and/or hopped from post to post as they do.
The other reason I never got involved on tumblr is because it is too public to write posts on my personal blog but I never write enough to commit to a sideblog on it. Its also hard to discuss personal relationship complexities when the people you're with follow you on tumblr.
And maybe we can do something similar to the Carnival of Aces on here too!
