I have yet to unlock subtitled French films, because apparently Netflix thinks I want to watch badly dubbed Gérard Depardieu where the sound is out of sync with the acting. I think it would have to be a queer film with a HAE ending for me to suffer through that auditory hell.
So confession time. I was initially interested in either Eliot or Leah, until I realized that Eliot is technically supposed to be masculine? And my lesbian farmer got her heart broken. Though now in my headcanon Eliot is nonbinary.
I married Leah on my first farm. That was great until I gave her ice cream and she H A T E D it. She is a really big health nut, fine, but we can't share ice cream?
I am now in the land of marriage indecision because what if I choose wrong?? I have two more farms, one where my farmer is happily poly and might stay that way. Though I started dating Emily and can't actually break up with Haley, so that's weird.
Just gonna have to make all the farms I guess. Maybe I will make the monster farm and romance Abigail. I think she would LOVE that.
I heard of this term literally two weeks ago in the context of some celebrity maybe having said she was (but no link, of course). I have been out in the US for over a decade and I headdesked for awhile because. Wat.
Yes. For example, the artist could have criticized Trump's hypermasculinity by overemphasizing the masculinity to the point of ridiculousness. Or something along the lines of the "masculinity so fragile" hashtag. (I mean, Trump kind of does everything to extremes already, but that is one way to satire without basically going "look we took your toxic masculinity away [now you are like unto a terrible woman the HORROR]!"
Cats and dogs are both special interests of mine! and also uh animal behavior in general. This thread is great! I have too many thoughts to really word about now even in writing because it has been A Busy Day. But I wanted to ask if you'd seen some of the news items about dolphins having culture? Including different pods having different cultures? When I saw them I was like "well, obviously" but apparently some governments were like "oh no but if we protect dolphin culture we'll have to like, protect the oceans and stuff" and OH NO THAT WOULD BE THE WORST because crapitalism.
Here's the Nature article about dolphin tool-using culture (uses science terminology, may be paywall) http://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms1983
All of the above points are good! It's also kind of like how when kids misbehave, it's better to say "you did a bad Thing" versus "you are a Bad Person". It's much easier to hear the first one and go "okay how do I not do the bad thing again" versus "oh so you're saying I'm like [all these other groups who we are now all labelling as Bad], so why should I change if I've already earned the Forever Bad label?"
Don't know if this makes sense, the heat may be getting to me.
I would be so mad if I lived there.
