I have seen THOUSANDS of waterfalls in Iceland over three trips and I NEVER got a rainbow on a waterfall. It's becoming this running joke. My friend, who is a tour guide there, even sends me pictures of all the rainbows and her laughing.
here's one of my better pictures of Skogafoss. https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/10501740_10101178843046044_3396639141525402786_n.jpg?oh=ad0ded7da14af400d67ca97d68e61c71&oe=58CDB2E0
I just saw Sigur Rós in concert! I've been to Iceland 3 times and I'm already planning what I'll do on my 4th trip there. There are no words to describe how amazing the landscape is. Pictures do it no justice.
I got an e-mail notifying me of this poll and discussion and the image in the e-mail was of a place I've actually been three times, haha. It was Skógafoss, a waterfall in Iceland, and I love that I can now identify random pictures of Icelandic waterfalls.
I would LOVE to go to Petra. Just the history alone and the fascination of how they would build such a place without modern equipment.
Wow, it took me forever to get the notification that you make this comment.
With the Tortall books, you need to keep in mind the audience when you read them, but I am insanely enjoying them. The Beka Cooper books are more grown up.
I keep getting distracted by other books!!!
I'm still working on the book challenge from 2015 LOL.
I like both. I love my kindle for the fact that I don't have to lug around thousand page books as my kindle fits neatly into my purse. I never go anywhere without it and I am always in the middle of several books. There's just something awesome about having a physical book on a shelf though. Something that you can loan out, or that people can skim to see if they have the same ones. But at the moment, I don't have much room for physical books, so, kindle it is.
Yeah, I'm only now reading the Tamora Pierce books because of her. It's awesome.
And yeah, if I see anything compared to 50 Shades of suck, I wouldn't go anywhere near it. I'm glad I didn't see that marketing. Especially since the lack of sex was something I really liked about the book. It's all within the scope of the plot, you know? I totally agree with your rant, that's super frustrating.
Yeah, you pick your genres and what stores you want to know deals from and they put together a list for you. The prices range from free to like 2 bucks for a book. There have been a lot of interesting things I've gotten from there.
She is!! I plowed through Alanna and then Daine. I took a break after that to read the next Outlander book I was on, then I got distracted with other stuff. I need to start the next ones. I also need a thousand more Beka Cooper books.
How did the publisher market it? I read it on recommendation from a friend, so I have no idea how the advertising went.
Anne Shirley is one of my alltime favorite characters EVER!! I love her to pieces and I decided to reread the books because my best friend, who isn't american, was reading them for the first time. I was SO excited that she was experiencing Anne for the first time!
I love bookbub. I get daily e-mails from them and I've found such awesome books!
Captive Prince was so good! I'm going to start reading book 2 once I finish Anne of the Island.
I have such a love hate relationship with GRRM. But among all of them, i think A Feast for Crows was my favorite.
What is the last book you read? Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat What are you reading now? Anne of the Island by L.M. Montgomery. I love this series to PIECES!
What is your favorite genre? I read everything. What are the top 3 books you've read this year? The Twin's Daughter by Lauren Baratz-Logsted, all of the Immortals books by Tamora Pierce, and Jerkbait by Mia Siegert. What do you like most about having a reading habit? I love escaping into the worlds in the books. I love imagining I am there beside them and going through their journeys with them.
