Pineapple pizza is the best thing so HECK YES
(https://media2.giphy.com/media/LwgCAmUzRMRvW/giphy.gif) (I'm sorry I can't get the markdown to work T_T )
Late to the party (badum TSH) but La Vie Boheme (https://youtu.be/OXE0XKFoUUo) from RENT always reminds me of being 18 and hanging out with my friends - the perfect setup for a pizza party!
(I like pineapple on my pizza!)
Thank you, I'll try this tomorrow when I have a chance
Me too! It's going to be fun to use for Important Rolls ;)
Oh my! I will keep an eye out for sure!
I have no idea what that is, what does it do?
Just updated chrome, am still experiencing scroll lag on my feed, but not typing lag.
it says "Version 54.0.2840.99 m" on the about page, i'm using windows 10. I'm not having typing lag here, I think because I went straight to the post and I don't have the dashboard underneath it (ie clicking it from my feed?).
I just went and checked for typing lag when i get to it by clicking on the post on my dash (so that I can X out of it and get back to my feed) and I AM getting typing lag on the comments page there.
I was not having any problems with the site last week.
That's so cool! What an awesome santa!
That awkward moment when you're looking at your comment and realize you completely failed to mention your FAVORITE TV SHOW. XD ah well. Note to self: don't leave Steven Universe off the list next time.
I hope my giftee likes theirs half as much as you like this :D
Stuff like this (and similar moments between Bruce and his Robins) make me hate the grimdark "I work alone" bullshit that seems to be so popular with dudebros even more.
Bruce might not be the best at socializing when he's not playing the role of "Bruce Wayne Billionaire Playboy", but he is a deeply caring and compassionate person who, even when he fucks up with the kids, is largely TRYING to do what's best for them.
Also this scene is just adorable.
Yeah I loved coming across that post because while as a Millennial I will use you're welcome, it's usually in the context of people being extremely effusive with their thanks, and I want them to know that I recognize that they're thanking me in a different way than normal. Usually I use it at work, in customer service, in the context of "aw, you're welcome!"
I'm just as likely to get the same sentiment expressed as a declaration (i.e. "You were SO helpful I just want you to know how much I appreciate it") in which case my response is generally "thank you!" Instead of anything else, because I appreciate the appreciation since I do work hard at my job and sometimes go out of my way to really help people.
In my personal life, though, I'm much more likely to brush it off - not rudely but with "no problem" or "oh of course!" or "it's no big deal". Outside of work, I am considerate because it's the right thing to do and no other reason (I'm considerate at work for that reason too but my help is based on the fact that I am employed there). It's literally not a problem or an imposition, even if it required me to go out of my way or give of my time and effort to do - it's something I feel should be instinctive and par for the course, so it's not a big deal and doesn't require much in the way of thanks.
...this is all very off topic but apparently I have a lot of thoughts about it.
Oh yeah definitely, it's fair to suggest things you'd be interested in, but the various things I saw you talking about throughout the post and comments just seemed like you were looking for something different than the site is really set up to provide atm
Honestly it sounds like you want a completely different kind of site than imzy is. That's not bad but this may or may not be the site for you if that's the case.
It really depends on how I'm feeling, how my arthritis in my hands is doing, and where I'm planning to read. I will always have a soft spot for physical books but nothing beats the portability of a digital library
I have a very old Reddit acct but I haven't used it in ages - mostly I read nosleep and avoid the rest of the site. I actually came to imzy to start getting away from TUMBLR.
There are any number of reasons why someone might not participate. Maybe they don't feel like they can add anything to the conversations happening but enjoy seeing what others have to say. Maybe they're learning about a subject still and don't want to participate until they have a better grasp of the topic. Maybe they have severe anxiety and want to follow a blog that has a topic they enjoy but don't want or need the stress that comes from becoming part of the conversation.
You're going into this assuming everyone is using imzy the same way you are, which is clearly untrue. Just because they use the platform differently doesn't make them "creepy", it just makes them different.
As I said upthread, it seems like your biggest issue seems to be that you can see how many people have, to compare it to an old-style forum, bookmarked your message board but not signed up for an account. This is not uncommon behavior on the internet and it never has been, but if SEEING the numerical proof of that is so disturbing to you, I'd say the solution is to simply have an option to not show those users on your stats page.
Not that your point doesn't have merit, but do you find people who bookmark online blogs and communities communities to read but never interact with to be creepy? Because it's functionally the same thing, you just get to see how many people bookmarked you.
Personally I'd argue that we as community leaders only need to see the people who have profiles associated with the community, or at least have the option to only see named followers. That way we don't force people into committing when they may not be ready, but folks like yourself who don't like seeing the number of uncommitted followers doesn't have to be creeped out.
Also unlike Reddit where 0 likes means someone's downvoted, there is no dislike option. If your post can't be disliked there's no reason to have autolikes. Instead it's like Twitter or facebook where liking a post is more about other people's reactions and a way to say "I saw this" even if you have nothing to add.
Honestly I think that the limited amount of varied opinions being obvious is because the site is still relatively small. As the user base grows, so will the likelihood of running into opinions you don't agree with.
Hey, I'm Mat! Uh, most of what I've been doing on Imzy so far has been getting writing prompts to write about my D&D characters.
I like comics (LADY SUPERHEROES Y'ALL), video games (most notably Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and World of Warcraft), Seanan McGuire, many nerdy things, tabletop RPGs, dice, the west wing, and sailor moon.
I don't know, I like little things I can fidget with, or adding to my dice collection, or just fun cute things that are related to what I'm interested in.
/hides face WELL I WILL KEEP THAT IN MIND. most of my already-written stuff is a few years old at this point, but...
most steve fic that i've written or wanted to write (for the MCU) is genderswap, or I'd try to remember to post some stuff. Buuuuut random "cap is a girl" AU stuff doesn't seem like quite the right way to encourage activity. ^^;;
Ugh, understandable. Tumblr is so toxic, it's part of why I'm trying to spend some time over here. Detox. :/
