Seveneves. It was gripping and the science was gratuitous which is fantastic. I enjoyed the political and social questions it raised. I also loved Greg Egan's Diaspora, but that verges on the very hard side of hard sci Fi.
I've seen us characterized as whiny millennial babies who can't handle not getting their way. The "participation trophy" generation. How can you even respond to that? I'm at such a loss.
