How college sold its soul to the market
This is a long (and somewhat depressing) read about how the structure and the culture of the academy have changed over time. It's from a U.S.-based publication, but from where I sit, it sure feels like the issues raised are fully international.
I'd love to get people's reactions to this if you feel like digging your teeth into something meatier. Do you recognize what the author is talking about here from your own institution(s)? In what ways is your own workplace embracing and/or fighting these trends?
