The bottom line: Our quick verdict on Google's Pixel and Pixel XL
What happens when Google designs its own phones, as Apple does with the iPhone? You get some of the best handsets money can buy, that's what. The 5-inch Pixel and 5.5-inch Pixel XL are well-built, with fast performance, excellent cameras and great screens (especially on the larger model).

I want to see how smooth that performance is in a year from now. My 5X randomly lags on opening the camera (it is a great camera) and sometimes doesnt even open, gets stuck on a white screen. Although looking back at some review videos, the occasional lag was there from day 1. https://youtu.be/0NTOZbjg6SE?t=215
Honestly, when I had my 5X after a week it started losing fluidity. My 1 week with the Pixel XL was Monday and it's still as snappy as it was out of the box.
Well, my 5X has been quite buttery ever since Nougat. Dunno what's wrong with the camera though, but that's only really been happening since I sat on it and cracked the screen. Not sure if there is any correlation.
