What substrate are you using for your planted tank?
I've been using Eco-Complete as a substrate for the past few years and have finally given up; keeping plants rooted in it seems impossible with my BN pleco.
What do you use? Is Fluorite any good? Do I have to splurge for ADA Aquasoil? Should I go the tahitian moon sand route?

Just find a thicker substrate, but if a pleco wants to deroot your plants, they'll get derooted its a simple fact of life.
I have pea gravel in my 30, flourite in my 5g Chi, and Tahitian Moon in my 5g shrimp tank. The plants in the pea gravel root well, but the substrate doesn't help much with retaining fertilizer so my crypt doesn't grow the best. The flourite does very well with my ludwigia and I have micro sword growing well and rooting well in it. The Tahitian Moon looks excellent, doesn't retain nutrients however, but my micro swords root very well in it. I wouldn't go with gravel for your pleco, it can be rough and not the best for them, but one thing you can do to keep your plants from being dig up is to tie them to larger stones that you can bury under the substrate, maybe.
