[Comic] Lady of the Shard by gigi d.g.
I recently got recced lady of the shard and I have to share the love.
It's a webcomic about an acolyte falling in love with a goddess, in space! All acolytes live together in the temple, which is a star shaped space shuttle thingie (very descriptive, I know) and every day they worship the Radiant Goddess, humanity's liberator and bringer of hope.
Our acolyte worships her a little bit differently from others: she brings her pancakes, she marvels at how beautiful the goddess is... She has a huge crush on her, basically. And then one day the acolyte is sent to clean one of the inner and most sacred rooms and she accidentally summons the goddess, who slowly falls for her.
But the forces of evil are conspiring in the dark, the Old God is coming back to fight the Radiant Goddess and the acolyte is right in the middle of things.
I'm not gonna tell you what happens next because I don't want to spoil too much, but I will warn for body horror and some pretty creepy imagery. I didn't find it too upsetting but it can be unpleasant if you're not into that. Or it may be an incentive if it's your kink ;)
Actually, the comic starts out as super adorable and femmeslashy, takes a turn to mind control, body horror and consent issues like woah, all sprinkled with a healthy topping of loyalty kink, and ends up fluffy and cute.
One thing that really drew me in at first is the style, it's different from what I'm used to, kinda experimental, and the use of very few colors is really interesting. The art is so cool, I don't know how to describe it, but I really enjoyed the creepy noncon transformations and how the character design was never boring.
It took me a bit more than 30 minutes to read it but I enjoyed every second of it. I got really into the story and I found the characters really relatable. The acolyte is too cute for words, I wanna hug her!
