[Recipe] Hazelnut cake
Ingredients
150 gr hazelnuts
150 gr soft flour
150 gr sugar
150 gr butter (room temperature)
8 gr baking powder
2 eggs (room temperature)
A pinch of salt
Powdered sugar
Method
Put the hazelnut in the mixer and pulse them they're grounded.
Cut the butter in small pieces and beat it with the sugar until light and creamy.
Beat the eggs and the add them slowly to the mixture, a spoonful at a time. Don't do it all at once or it won't rise.
Mix the flour with the baking powder and the salt, then sift it all in the mixture.
Finally, add the hazelnuts.
Grease and dust with flour a 24 cm cake tin and evenly spread the cake mixture in it.
Bake the cake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
Once it's cooked, let it cool and then sift the powdered sugar over it.
The recipe I found said to bake the cake for 30min at 220°C, which IMO is the best way to burn it, so I lowered the temperature and it was fine. The only downside is that I didn't know how long it would take, so I had to open the oven a couple of times, which meant the cake fell :(
Well, the original recipe also said the cake was enough for 8 people. I ate it with my family and the four of us scarfed down 2/3 of it, so...

Do you think this would work with almond? I ask because I already have some ground almonds and nothing to use them in besides brownies.
Good question, but I think it might do the trick! Almonds have a similar texture to hazelnuts, it think it could work out okay.
