When I first got involved back in March 2015, before I was an employee, I was raided by some of the gameplay designers and current producer and when I mean raided - they brought a couple T-Rexes to my wooden base. All I had was a trike. I retaliated later that day by talking shit in chat and drowning their Rexes.
That's awesome
While we've been part of a larger tribe off and on for the past several months, my true tribe is basically just me and one other guy. Our first Quetzal tame was a big deal for 3 reasons:
We did it right after the exploit of landing on a wild Quetzal's back and pouring Tranq Darts and/or Arrows into them was patched
The KO method we used was the Argentavis carry strategy, in which Norse (my buddy) flew his Argent and picked me up, chasing the wild Quetzal while I fired Tranq Darts at it from the talons
The Quetzal came down in the middle of a forest just northwest of South Zone 2, which we thought was pretty convenient for us, having our base on the beach in South Zone 2. Without GPS or trackers to help find my way back to the tame site, however, getting a few of our Direwolves over there to help defend the unconscious Quetzal during taming and also go get Raw Prime Meat to feed the beast was such a chore. It would have resulted in a failed tame if not for constant communication between us, basically thinking out loud everything we saw in our immediate surroundings and using that stream of consciousness to help me find my way back.
We were very proud of that accomplishment. It ranks up there with our first Giga tame, but for me, that first Quetzal is my favorite achievement because of how we didn't really know what we were doing but still managed to pull it off through great teamwork. The first Giga tame, on the other hand, was easy as hell once we planned it out.
