"Second Chance": D.I.D. vs Method
Obviously, I am a few episodes behind, but I just got done listening to Second Chance, and was intrigued by the case of the woman who can command a change in personalities at will. I was also disappointed in what they considered to be their "control" for this study. I was wondering if you had heard of anyone trying this on an actor trained in Strasberg's Method, where actors attempt to become as much like their characters as possible, physically and mentally (generally within reason, though there are exceptions). If so, I would be curious to know whether or not the results were at all similar to either her personality shifts or to the "control" state. If not, what are your opinions, if any, on the possible outcomes?

To my knowledge, there haven't been any neuroimaging studies that compare self-identified DID patients to individuals using some kind of acting method to "call up" a character or identity. Interesting idea! We simply don't have much evidence for DID so I'd probably say that I'm very skeptical and would consider other diagnoses before truly entertaining DID as a diagnosis.
