in keeping with the title of this personal blog (lit 'let's have a drink/coffee/tea'^), here's an old picture of my breakfast. it's funny how malaysia doesn't quite have 'breakfast food' per se, because yes, there are foods popular during breakfast but you also can and do have it at any other time of the day.
introduction post if you like! I'll start: you can call me Nina and I'm basically a pop culture enthusiast who reads way too many links in a day. I take pictures of food and places. AMA but i reserve the right to not answer it aye. As for my pseud, I just really like multilingual punning. Ayamnotkambing = "I am not coming", and literally it translates into "Chicken not goat", which is perfect because when I first came up with it, it was the Year of the Sheep/Goat and I am born in the Year of the Rooster/Chicken. #levels #inception
^it's a cliche/stock phrase whenever you don't actually want to do any work.

This looks really delicious. What kind of soup (?) is that? I don't know a lot about Malaysian food.
(Introduction: My name is Amanda and I'm a cis white lesbian from the United States. Nice photo!)
that's actually soft-boiled egg! have you ever had something called an onsen tamago or onsen egg in a japanese restaurant? Apparently it's something similar to sous vide eggs as well! It's very common in Malaysia and Singapore, and you have it with a dash of light soy sauce and pepper, and if you like you dip your toast into it. And the typical Malaysian/Singaporean toast would come slathered in butter (or margarine) and kaya, which is a thick coconut cream jam. :D Here's another look at it. Malaysians are so fussy about food, yet it isn't so popularly known outside. But you can always spot us by our food opinionating lol
And hello! Hope you'll enjoy yourself here. :)
That sounds really good. I'll need to try it sometime.
