Bringing together all barefoot and minimalist runners, to share tips and advice, recommendations & research updates!
Hi! Creating a group for Barefoot and Minimalist Runners / Enthusiasts ! Starting with the famous TED talk by Chris (Born to Run)
Adaptation
Humans adapt to physical and creative challenges in remarkable ways. How do we do it, and what happens when we can't? In this episode, TED speakers share inspiring stories about our capacity to adapt.
For many of us, the book "Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall was the introduction to a real community that ran barefoot for hundreds of years without any apparent genetic difference or long term injuries.
This linked podcast helps share some insight into how Chris was able to identify and arrive at his revolutionary book. Enjoy ! And welcome to the community! :)
Regards, Vishnu

Ohhh I'm so frequently barefoot and would love to run barefoot. But, the worst foot injury I've ever received was stepping barefoot on a razor in the shower. (So you couldn't really expect me to be wearing shoes.) Because my heels are so thickly callused, the whole scar tissue thing isn't working well and it still hurts me months later. I can't even put on sneakers, it's either sandals or boots- and I hiss taking off the boots because of the pressure they put on the wound. I'm trying to find ways to stay active while keeping weight off the injured heel and not limping/messing up my back alignment. Someday it'll be better....
