Title: Joy as Sharp as a Sword
Author: Oshun
Pairing(s): Fingon/Maedhros/Finrod
Rating: E
Warning(s): none
Reason I love this fic: It's so hard to choose a favourite, but every time I reread this particular story, it makes me so happy. It's sexy, funny, and inspiring all at once, not to mention that Fingon/Finrod/Maedhros is pretty much just about the hottest threesome I can imagine!
And a quote!
"Love is the candle that lights this hard, cruel world,” Fingon said, disentangling himself from the awkward three-way embrace. “Let’s get naked."
Loved this, thanks for the rec!
thanks from me (the author) too!
OMG! Thank you. I cannot believe you picked a story of mine. I don't think I enjoyed writing anything more than this one. Pure self-indulgence. I wanted to write it for years!
You should clearly indulge yourself more! :) I firmly believe that when we write what we very much want to write, it can't help but be visible, and I think this story is a really good example of that - your sense of fun and happiness at being able to write this story just shines through!
Title: Another Man's Cage
Author: Dawn Felagund
Pairing(s): Gen fic, with some canon couples
Rating: M
Warning(s): Violence and some sexuality
Reason I love this fic: This fic gives such an amazing perspective on Feanorian family life, while also touching upon the families of the other Finwions. I fell in love this family and learned to truly feel compassion for their terrible fates because of this fic more than anything else I've ever read in fanon or canon. Long, but worth the read.
oh man this is Difficult.
Title: The Starless road ( for the LIFE OF ME i can't get the link to work. it's on AO3. :(( Author: emilyenrose
Pairing(s): Fingon/Maedhros
Rating: Teen and Up
Warning(s): Author chose not to use
Reason I love this fic: It feels like a very natural and realistic post-canon story, fits the tone and general feel of Tolkien while remaining very inventive. Bittersweet, stuck with me for a loooonnnng time after I read it.
Title: The Art of Long-Distance Grandparenting
Author: Kaz
Pairing(s): Idril/Tuor, but honestly mostly Gen.
Rating: G
Warning(s): None that I can think of.
Reason I love this fic: This is a serious yet humorous view of what it might be like for those living in Aman to have family yet remaining in Middle-earth. Even family they have never met! Idril is the main character here, and her efforts to find out more about her grandchildren are what keeps the fic moving. There's a really cool glimpse of early-Second Age Elvish society. My only complaint is that, at ~7000 words, it is too short to last very long.
Ooh, I don't think I've read this one! :D
Hope you like it!
