They took our jobs!
We are woefully unprepared for the coming automation revolution. There aren't any solutions proposed in this video, but it suggests 45% or more of the population (a low-ball figure) will soon be completely unable to contribute to the workforce through no fault of their own.
I am looking very forward to driverless cars, though.

Scary stuff. The bit about creativity bots was an eye opener.
It was also interesting to see how various corporate and administration jobs are at risk of automation. Even the bullshit jobs alluded to in this article are under threat.
The future does look bleak.
The video does paint a pretty bleak picture. It is exciting that all the bullshit, demeaning jobs will go away, because people will have the time to educate themselves, resolve psychological issues, create more art, innovative technology, etc. because they don't have to waste time trying to make a living [assuming the ruling class implements a basic income].
... but what is there after the transition? Dystopia.
Or the majority of humans could become less valuable and less expensive than technology. We could return to the days of cheap, expendable manual labourers with no rights, while anything that requires a level of skill is automated.
Hopefully I'm dead by then. lol
If there were a basic income, I think the pursuit of profits will become a much less of a factor and prevent that from happening. I tend to be a little optimistic, though.
Here's hoping your vision of the future is the more accurate one.
