Welcome back to another episode of DC on The CW. It was a short week with only new episodes of Supergirl and Kevin Smith's return to the director's chair for The Flash. How will last week's onscreen happenings lead us into this week's epic four-series crossover?

They bring up a good point. I love the CW shows and have watched since episode 1 of Arrow, but the characterization is inconsistent. I have a feeling it's because of how long each season goes. I get the feeling that they are constantly stretching for time and in doing so, forgot about the subtler events that had happened throughout the series. They also sometimes let plot points trump character. Like, why did Felicity get bored with Ivy Town and make Ollie suit up again (and why did Oliver decide to go on his va-cay in the first place)? Why did Barry forget everything he learned in season one and save his mom in the S2 finale? Because the plot, in spite of character arcs, demanded it.
Well stated. This was also very evident in how they used the Laurel character. In season one she beat up attackers but the writers buried that really fast. Then she kept getting her ass kicked when starting out as the Canary. Even then it was one week get her ass kicked by one guy and the next beat up 3 henchmen at the same time. Sometimes it really bugs me.
