Episode 4x01 Thoughts

Well, it seems like Team SilverFlint are at least acting like friends at the moment. Much moreso than they were during their chat in the woods.

I'm pleased that Silver and Madi have hooked up. They screamed power couple since they first laid eyes on one another.

I can't believe Eleanor married Woodes Rogers. I guess she does love him? Part of me can't believe that she's capable of anything other than scheming at this point. I did really appreciate that she stood up for Max.

Sinking the ships in the harbor was genius. I don't like Rogers, but that was a smart move.

Even smarter however was Flint using the pressure of the sails to tilt the ship higher. I crowed when he did that and I figured out what he was doing.

The tension between Billy and Flint is excellent. I've caught wind that things go much farther down that road. I'm glad to see Billy coming into his own. I may be a Billy/Flint shipper, but I like them at odds, too. (Also, Billy moved into Miranda's house? Oh the symbolism. But also broke her things. Oh the symbolism.)

And whoa Madi! With the "I am no man!" move! The way the men both stared at her... they may not think there will be a pirate king anymore, but she is 100% ready to be a pirate queen. If Billy has any smarts, he'll follow her.

I don't understand how they possibly hope to win, though. Even if they have all their men +200 slaves... they intend to take the whole town, kill all the soldiers, and hold off two armies? Britain and Spain surely aren't going to just give up. Even if Rogers runs out of money, even if his venture fails, they're not just going to be left alone.

They can't really believe they will be.
