Place to discuss, rec, and generally squee over fan fiction about Steve Rogers and Tony Stark
Monday: Donate-a-Prompt
Don't we all know this feeling of having too many ideas to write and no time to write them all? Is there this one headcanon that you really want to read but can't write it? Or that frustration when you actually do want to write but you can't come up with anything?
If you have prompts or headcanons that you want to provide for your fellow writers and/or artists, here's the time and place! Anything is welcome, just take note to attach appropriate warnings if applicable :)
If you need resources:
- Here's a handy prompt generator
- There's an unholy amount of AU ideas on my tumblr
- Prompts on Writer's Digest
- Writing Prompts that Don't Suck
In case you create something based on these prompts, be sure to link to them here so we can all read them! Or maybe post a short fill directly in the comments :)

Sunglass Face over on tumblr asked me to share this here in the hopes that someone might be interested in writing it. Seems like a really intriguing approach to post-CACW!
One of the trashiest ideas I have that I've forgotten about until recently: Steve as a Stark Industry Booth Babe. (Either a meet-cute sort of thing, or established relationship where Steve is doing it to be a lil shit and Tony is like "Steve why. Steve you look great but please put on a shirt oh my god.")
This is the sort of quality content I'm looking for in this comm
his eyes are up there, Tony
ahahahaha omg perfect! Poor distracted Tony :'D
I was just thinking that Steve should have a temporary tattoo of 'Stark Industries' across his pecs...Omg perfection!
This is everything I never knew I wanted <3
Sooo, what I kind of need to know. Is Steve wearing booty shorts? X)
That's amazing.
HAHA you decide :^)
I actually can't choose between really tight almost painted on pants or booty shorts X) maybe he changed in between the shows or something X)
College AU where Steve is a play boy/ kind of am asshole who thinks he's cool. Tony as a quiet adorable guy. Steve is usually really confident but when he meets Tony he's all shy and blushing and stuttering. He tries several times to get Tony to go on a date with him but tony always says no.
I forgot from who where I saw the post in tumblr but I'd like to see too a Post CA:CW fix-it from the team's POV.
Like one where they watch Steve and Tony fumble around each other, trying to fix their relationship? Something like that?
Yes! Totally like that! And maybe also the team trying to help a bit.
What if Sam calls Rhodey up because Steve is miserable and he needs to see if there is any chance Tony would be up for making him less miserable and Rhodey is just like thank God, Tony has been so mopey lately too, we've got to fix this! And then they get all the other Avengers in on it, trying to arrange things so that Steve and Tony can meet up.
Totally approves of that! You got me at Sam, one of Steve's closest friend, reaching out FIRST to Rhodey, tony's bff, instead of the other way around or something else. (Which probably will be great too but Sam & Rhodey okay. Those two needs more love than they deserve).
At first I was going to say that Rhodey would be the one to reach out, but I kind of felt like he'd be a bit hesitant to do it, seeing as he probably feels almost as betrayed as Tony does. Sam on the other hand seems like the type to try to mend the rift, especially since he probably feels guilty for what happened with Rhodey.
All yes to that! And I feel like by helping steve and tony, they'll manage to repair the damage between them, too.
post CA:CW Tony gets caught in the multiverse and either meets post season 3 AA Tony, or AA Steve and the rest of the team.
I want him to meet the team, so he'll see how much they love their Tony and how hard they are working to get him back.
Oh, that sounds so bittersweet. MCU Tony would be so envious, I bet he'd even help them :'(.
(1) I want to see Tony as the Merchant of Death, suddenly waking up one day to find that not only does he have fertile feet (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FertileFeet) but he's also a friend to all living things (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FriendToAllLivingThings). Somehow he'd become the embodiment of life itself. He covers this up the best he can (shoes help with the fertile feet) and goes about his life, totally not having an existential crisis, I don't know what you are talking about. Then they recover Captain America's body. It turns out that close proximity to Tony is all he needs to stay alive.
(2) What if Tony were the reincarnation of a stray cat that Steve took care of back in the 30's? And Tony didn't remember until long after meeting Steve?
(3) Steve and Tony play DND together and their characters (and them) somehow end up making out.
The fertile feet would make awesome fanart!
It was that image, Tony going WTF? at the plant life growing everywhere he steps, that really convinced me to make that prompt. Plus I like the motif of life and death. Tony's got that whole Merchant of Death thing going on and I just thought it'd be neat to turn it on it's head and have him actually be life.
Ok, the idea of a non-superpowered AU where their DND characters are their Avengers counterparts is hilarious to me and why has it not been done?!
Edit: It's almost too easy. Steve is a paladin. Clint is a ranger. Natasha is a rogue. etc.
I have three offerings for the AU gods today
For some reason, even though I'd normally cast Tony in the role of the criminal, I'm really seeing him as "the exhausted af detective" in this one.
niceee, I'm always up for role reversal. And I can see Steve the thief being totally flirty with Tony :D
I think it's because I see Tony as being perpetually exhausted. He's just so done with everything, but at the same time he's unable to give up his work. Steve as a thief is, of course, a Robin Hood-esque figure that has trouble really seeing cops as the enemy despite knowing they're out to arrest him. So all the cops that have run into him can't help but mention how friendly and polite he was as he was getting away.
Yes, I was seeing Tony as the overworked detective too! Too much caffeine, too much take away, too many uncomfortable naps under the desk.
I can't stop cackling at the last one omfg - for some reason I see Steve as the one looking for a booty call?
Haha poor Steve has probably worked up the courage to do this booty call thing for a long time and then he goes and hits the wrong name
And Tony is secretly so excited to get this booty call X)
All those are beautiful.
And if I ever get done with my goddamned WIP's, I'm writing that second one.
I'm all in favour of that :D
