One Word Prompt 1: Thunderstorm
I thought it would be fun to do this once a week. Just a one-word prompt, and you can do whatever you want with it: art, story, drabble, gif set, poem, doodle, meta, headcanon, whatever! Totally no pressure, just something fun to get the creative juices flowing. If you want to share it here, that would be awesome (and wherever else you want, of course)!

I CANNOT WRITE SHORT THINGS I HAVE A SICKNESS.
Awww, that's fantastic. What a great way to connect Tony's anxiety to the storm and the Chitauri.
yay thank you! :D
Aaah I'm so glad I checked back on this thread; i love this piece so much! I love the contrast here, Steve's calmness and concern alongside Tony being so sharp and agitated. What a sweet ending too!
Thank you so much! :D
(My phone is being glitchy and weird, and I just skimmed over this when I was done, so please forgive any typos.)
Thunderstorms in the mountains were intense.
This high up, the storm was literally right on top of them. Tony stood at the window, watching lightning flare as the rain hissed and roared around their cabin.
Steve stepped up behind him, pressing a warm mug into his hand. A bolt of lightning split the darkness, illuminating the trees, and thunder cracked so loudly the cabin shook.
Tony just leaned back into Steve. Steve’s arm curled around his front, his nose tucked behind Tony’s ear. Tony smiled.
“We could've done better than this cramped little cabin, you know,” he said, taking a drink from his mug.
“‘Cramped,’ huh?” Steve huffed. Tony could hear his grin. “Your billionaire is showing.”
“I'm just saying, we could've gone anywhere. You could be on a private beach somewhere warm and tropical.”
“That's okay.” Steve kissed the side of Tony’s head, his hand sliding under Tony’s sweater to stroke warmly up his side. “I'm happy right where I am.”
Ahhhhhh, that's great! Your billionaire is showing. I love it. They seem so happy.
So lovely omg :D
Thanks! 😊
This is so sweet; my favorite thing is how Tony's always trying to make every inconvenience go away, while Steve is just like, bby please I'm here for you, not the convenience :D. and happiness ensues.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. :D
Just a little something that popped into my head IDK..... :)
Tony’s always liked thunderstorms.
When he was little, it was always because of the loud noises-- the rumble of thunder he could feel all the way down to his toes, the howling winds that rattled branches against windows, and the steady, heavy pitter patter of the falling rain. His mom would always find him on days like those, and she’d take him into her arms and cuddle with him on this little window seat they had in the library room. They’d sit there for hours, looking out into the chaos beyond the glass, and Tony would always end up watching his Mom more than the storm; the way her eyes-- light and gray like the sky outside-- would be filled with wonder and peace.
She was always happiest with Tony and the rain.

Nowadays, he thinks he might like thunderstorms even more.
Their bedroom is dark, with only a brief flash of lightning filling the room every once in a while. The view outside the window is hazy and blurry, but it doesn’t matter, because Tony has something a hell of a lot better to look at.
“Did you know you smile when more during storms?” Steve asks softly, eyes soft from sleep, and Tony can’t remember the last time he saw anything more beautiful.
“Well yeah, it’s not every day I get to keep you in bed this late,” he replies, tucking his head back onto a warm, firm shoulder. Steve’s laughter is low and fond, but it still manages to drown out the noise outside, and Tony falls back to sleep with warm kisses being pressed into his hair.
Oh, that's lovely! I like the juxtaposition of Tony as a child finding comfort from his mom and that contentment sort of flowing over to adulthood. That storms=safety and love. Nicely done!
aksjdhfkjsdhgk THANK YOUUUU! :)
I LOVE the image of Tony learning from his mother how to be happy, and then imitating that later in life with Steve! Really beautiful
Thank you so much oh my god :')
Oh gosh, this is so cute! I love the imagery here--how in both cases, Tony finds sort of an anchor in the chaos with his favorite person. And hearteyes at Steve, he's adorable.
I'm so glad you liked it, thank you! :D
