Tags - Please Read!

Hi everyone!

This is a friendly reminder, in my capacity as Community Leader, to please tag your posts, and to do it with all the relevant tags, but only the relevant tags! It's no big deal if you forget or use a "wrong" tag once in a while, but if you guys remember to do it when you post, it will save me some time later when I check if everything's okay. :)

I am a total "make it up as I go along" mod, which means I've added and reworded tags several times since this comm started. I think I've got all the bases covered now, though, so I figured I'd finally make a formal post about it.

The Basics:

Imzy allows 100 tags per community, divided up into 50 tags for everyone to use and 50 tags only the Leader gets to use. Not the most efficient distribution for a community like this, but we have 24 For Everyone tags left, so I think we'll be fine. Imzy's limit for the number of tags you can add to a single post is 10. The picture above shows all the tags you can currently choose from.

As the Community Leader, I have the ability to add and remove tags from YOUR posts. I've done this a couple of times by now. If you notice that this has happened to a post you made, please don't worry! You are not in trouble, and I'm not mad. I've just been doing some administrative work, so to speak, to keep everything orderly while I figured out a good system. Please read on to the bottom of this post, because I'd like your input on how to procede from here on out. Community Leaders can NOT edit the actual content of members' posts, btw.

For all tags goes: please only use a tag if it directly applies to the contents of your post. That way, when others use the tags to find or filter out specific kinds of content, they'll only find or remove things that are truly relevant to their search criteria, instead of everything that vaguely relates to it.

Our Tags and When To Use Them:

Black Swan: The psychological ballet thriller Black Swan), starring Jane's actress Natalie Portman as troubled dancer Nina and Bucky's actor Sebastian Stan as Andrew, a young man she has a few romantic scenes with in a nightclub. As the closest thing we currently have to MCU Bucky and Jane meeting, the movie has a special place in this community. It's where our header and icon picture are from!

Bucky x Jane: Try not to overuse this tag! It might seem like it should be on every post by default, but that's what the whole idea of a community is for: everything you find here is, by default, centered around the Bucky x Jane ship. Please only use this tag if it directly applies to the post.

bonus Captain America cast: If a character (other than Bucky) has appeared in a Captain America movie or belongs in that branch of the franchise, use this tag. Because Marvel is such an interconnected franchise and characters like Iron Man and Black Panther have appeared in Captain America movies, how you fill this in is largely up to your own discretion.

bonus OCs: Did you give Bucky and Jane kids, or create your own versions of their off-screen families, or added any other characters of your own making? Use this tag.

bonus Thor cast: If a character (other than Jane) has appeared in a Thor movie or belongs in that branch of the franchise, use this tag. Because Marvel is such an interconnected franchise and characters like the Hulk and Nick Fury have appeared in Thor movies, how you fill this in is largely up to your own discretion.

bonus other Marvel cast: For all Marvel characters, MCU and comics-verse alike, that don't fall under "Captain America cast" or "Thor cast".

comics canon: This community is, admittedly, pretty MCU-centric. But the comics are by no means unwelcome! Please only use this tag if you're specifically including things from the comics. (Please note that your mod is incredibly nitpicky about MCU-Bucky's time with the Russians, so if you give him a backstory where he was with the MCU-Red Room and knew MCU-Natasha during that time, you'll get a comics canon tag whether you like it or not. :P )

crossover: This tag is for characters, settings and other elements from anything but the various Marvel properties. Characters from different Marvel properties interacting does not fall under this tag. Bucky and Jane in the same fic: NOT for the crossover tag. Iron Man and Daredevil in the same fic: NOT for the crossover tag. Bucky and Jane going to Hogwarts, or piloting Jaegers together: YES to the crossover tag!

death & breaking up: Some people love it, some people hate it. If Bucky and/or Jane lose each other or end up apart for whatever reason, with no indication that they might get together (again) in the future, use this tag.

discussion: Self-explanatory. Catch-all tag for anything Bucky x Jane related you feel like talking about!

edits and manips: If you're posting pre-existing graphics (such as from screenshots, page scans, official promotional materials, fashion photoshoots, and the like) that have been altered in some significant way, use this tag. Please mind the difference between edits/manips, fanart, and graphics-not-edited! Gifs go in this tag.

fanart: For drawings, paintings, and photography made by you or other fans. This is also the tag to use if, for example, you've baked cupcakes with Bucky and Jane's symbols on it, or sewed plushies wearing their costumes, and et cetera, and want to post pictures of it. Please mind the difference between edits/manips, fanart, and graphics-not-edited though! Gifs do not go in this tag.

fanfiction: Proze stories of any length, written by fans.

filk and poetry: Filks, for the purpose of this community, are songs or song lyrics written by fans, about fannish subjects. They are sometimes - but not necessarily - a riff on existing songs. Poetry is poetry. :P Please mind the difference between filk/poetry and music/fanmixes!

graphics not edited: If you're posting screenshots, page scans, official promotional materials, fashion photoshoots, and the like, and they haven't been altered, use this tag. Please mind the difference between edits/manips, fanart, and graphics-not-edited! Gifs do not go in this tag.

miscellany: For anything that doesn't fall under any of the other tags.

music & fanmixes: Relating songs you hear on the radio to your ships is as old as fandom itself, as is collecting a bunch of such songs into fannishly-themed mixtapes or playlists. This is the tag for all your Bucky x Jane related music. Please mind the difference between filk/poetry and music/fanmixes!

news: For when Marvel canon, or Natalie Portman or Sebastian Stan's careers, do something relevant to Bucky and/or Jane.

podfic: Podfic is fanfiction read aloud and recorded.

polls: Polls!! You can use Imzy's nifty poll function or just ask people for their opinions, we're not picky.

prompts and plot bunnies: Under this tag you can ask for prompts, leave prompts for others to pick up, or to put your own story ideas up for adoption, free to a good home.

recs and links: This tag serves many purposes. First off, use this if you share posts from elsewhere on Imzy to this comm. Secondly, if you'd rather link to your fic or gifset or whatever than post it to Imzy in its entirety, use this tag too. Most importantly, though: If you'd like to share something made by anyone other than yourself, use this tag to link to it only. This community does not allow you to repost or crosspost any fanworks that you did not create yourself. Sorry, but not even if you claim you have the original creator's permission.

solo Bucky: This community is focussed on Bucky and Jane as a couple, i.e. the both of them together, but we're not averse to the occasional post about just one of them! This tag can by definition not be combined with the Bucky x Jane tag.

solo Jane: This community is focussed on Bucky and Jane as a couple, i.e. the both of them together, but we're not averse to the occasional post about just one of them! This tag can by definition not be combined with the Bucky x Jane tag.

threesomes and love triangles: Sometimes the exact opposit, sometimes one is just a prelude to the other. As with Bucky and Jane not ending up with each other at all, though, some people love it when a third character is involved in whatever capacity and some people hate it, so make sure to tag it either way!

videos: Self-explanatory.

One Last Thing - PLEASE READ!

A) When in doubt about which tags to use when, just ask!

B) Are there any other tags you think would be useful to add?

C) Just because I can set the tags for the entire community all by myself doesn't mean I necessarily should. Would you guys prefer if I, in my capacity of Community Leader:

  1. add/remove/correct tags wherever necessary without bothering you guys about it
  2. ask you guys to add/remove/correct the tags on your own posts
  3. take down a list of who wants what (I mean, at the moment there are exactly three active members besides myself. it wouldn't exactly be a hardship)

Reminder though, that nobody can touch the content of your posts but you. :)
