I had my monthly 5k on Saturday. It was... odd. Super warm, bit of a strange course, and not chip timed. The reason for that was that it was put on my a local brewpub and most people did not choose the DD plan like we did. After every 1 mile loop, they gave you a beer to drink. Once you finished it, then you continued the run.
I don't care for beer, so me and all the other DDs simply kept running. I finished in just under 40 minutes. Like seconds under...
Sunday we tried to put in some additional mileage in preparation for the half-marathon on 4/1. I wore different shoes and apparently not the best socks and got a blister by the time we completed 1 5.25 mile loop.
Bought new shoes on Monday, but picked even worse socks and aggravated the blister with another 5.25 mile loop. sigh
Eeek! I hope you get the shoes & socks problem sorted out! Congrats on the monthly 5k!
Got out there for the second time this week and got back on track with my 10k training plan. Beautiful weather today thankfully! Managed 15min jog, 3min walk, 15min jog, walked a bit then one last push to finish off the Zombies, Run mission.
Fantastic! Feels great, doesn't it? I am jealous of your good weather. It's still below freezing here, and it'll probably be another month before I can start running outside :-(
