Moar theory.

This time about Brave Exvius.

Okay, so with the last Dirnado story update, we found out some things.

There is more than one Veritas (so far we have Veritas of the Dark and of the Heavens - and this probably means there is one for each element.) We have also found out who Veritas of the Heavens is after giving him a sound thrashing which caused his helmet to fall off. This update, see, introduced us to a new story character: Lid, who is a mechanic, and a bloody good one at that. She aspires to be the next Cid, which is a name given to only the very best of mechanics, and so she worships the Cids that have come before. That part's important, because when Veritas' helmet comes off...

Lid recognizes him. He's the very first Cid, who is supposed to be, y'know. Dead.

So Veritas, or Cid as I should really call him because lol confusion, says something about Aldore and Hess, which Lasswell finds oddly familiar, before he sods off to wherever it is he sods off to. Aldore is apparently the "heart" of the airship he's been trying to repair and raise, the Invincible - without Aldore, it can't be powered and hence won't fly, so he broke the Wind Crystal in order to unseal Aldore and set the Invincible aloft once more. (No idea what Hess is yet.) But wait a second, Aldore and Hess...where have we heard this before?

Oh. Right. Crash-landing on Dirnado after Leviathan went after the ship. Fina's original personality makes a brief comeback and snipes at Rain, and while she's at it, she mentions Aldore and Hess.

We've also seen that Rain had a run-in with the Earth Crystal, and presumably original!Fina, when he was a child. He was trying to find his father Raegen, who went off without warning again. Unfortunately, he ended up coming across the Crystal instead, and original!Fina presumably did something to him at that time.

Back to just after beating the snot out of Cid. It takes Lasswell a while to remember where he's heard about Aldore and Hess before, but eventually he does - it's from stories he was told in his childhood. Stories told to him by none other than Raegen. Of course, in retrospect, he thinks it rather bloody odd that Raegen would tell him, and not Rain, these stories.

What has this got to do with anything? Okay. Here's the theory.

I think I know who Veritas of the Dark is.

To put it bluntly, I suspect he is none other than Raegen himself. It makes a strange amount of sense - Raegen is gone like all the bloody time, Rain first comes across the Crystal and original!Fina trying to find Raegen, Fina broke out of the Crystal to save Rain and Lasswell from Veritas of the Dark, Fina's original personality shows familiarity with Rain and seems to think he should know about Aldore and Hess, and we have discovered that Raegen has passed a lot of incredibly vital information on to Lasswell in the form of telling him stories as a kid. (See Lasswell knowing how to summon visions and what they do, knowing about Aldore and Hess, etcetera.) This begs the question: why not Rain? And I suspect that's because Raegen didn't want Rain to know, because he didn't want to have to face Rain someday as an enemy.

It's just a theory right now, but I swear to whatever deity may be listening, if I'm right...
