Out of tunes: Disney's live-action remake of Mulan ditches the songs
The forthcoming live-action remake of Disney's Mulan won't be the all-singing, all-dancing affair fans might have hoped for. In an interview with Moviefone, Mulan's director Niki Caro confirmed that the film will break from Disney tradition by not being a musical. "From what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children," she said.
It turned out to be surprisingly hard to find a non-clickbaity article about the newest announcement that the live-action Disney's Mulan wouldn't be a musical. "Fans are furious, "outrage", "backlash" -- meh. I don't really care whether people are upset are not, because there will always be people upset and having opinions about whatever is changed in an adaptation, but the presentation of so much negativity by pop culture websites about a film that hasn't even started production yet is ridiculous and counter-productive.
