5 Characteristics of Weak Leaders
(And How Not to Be One) General McClellan had significant character flaws that I believe serve as a warning signs to anyone in leadership. Ultimately, these cost him dearly: He lost Lincoln's confidence, his job, and a run for the White House (against Lincoln).

Some interesting ideas here. Taking definitive action is definitely something I'm working on.
Do you agree with these?

I'm not sure I agree with #5. I think occasional, justified criticism of people in positions of authority can be a good trait in a leader, especially if the leader is just saying what everyone else is already thinking.
I had a boss who once criticized her boss openly, and it was a relief to the rest of us in the organization. We felt validated, like, "Oh, okay, it's NOT just us thinking he's totally incompetent... Let's get on with our work without worrying too much about his opinion, then."
Our collective decision to stop trying to please the incompetent boss ended up being a beneficial thing for our department and the company as a whole. We were able to grow in ways he would have rather stifled, and the person who eventually replaced him was impressed by our department right off the bat.
