a place for Imzy community leaders to ask for help and lend a hand at the same time
CLOSED Request help here CLOSED

If your community could use help, this post explains how to ask. We'll be collecting help requests till the very end of Monday the 17th. Then, we'll collect help offers. Then, match.
Simple version:
- Copy the form and paste it into a reply to a pinned "Request help here" post
- Remember to answer all the questions.
- If you want to request help for more communities that you lead, put each request form in a seperate reply
More complicated version for people who use multiple Imzy usernames
I've set this up so that people who use different Imzy usernames to lead different communities will not have to out themselves. Here's how you can send forms for up to 3 leader usernames:
- post a form anon as a reply to one of the "Request help here" posts
- post a second form anon as a reply to a second "Request help here" post
- use an Imzy username to post a third comment as a reply to either one of the "Request help here" posts
The form you need to copy and paste
(To get a line return type two spaces at the end of a line.)

It's a community for support and encouragement for people working on short term goals
The default assumption is that you need people who know the topic or are willing to dive into the topic. Is this true for you? (Yes/No)
No
If you answered no, what help are you looking for that doesn't require knowledge of the topic at all? (such as help with graphics, checking for trolls)
I have two requests.
First, I would love if someone could create graphics for the community: an icon, header, and mobile header. I tried my best, but I am not good with graphics and they are ugly. We would of course credit you for the graphics in the "about" page.
Second, I would like a fresh pair of eyes to look over the community to give honest feedback about a couple things, like how easy it is to find the rules and other info, how content could be improved, and what potential barriers to entry there might be for new members. The percentage of members who participate is on the low side, and I would love to find ways to draw more people into discussions. Really just looking for any feedback!
Do you have anything to help people learn topic? (for example an online primer, a watchalong, a movie)
No, aside from the community rules and about page. Would love feedback on what should go in an FAQ, so someone entirely unfamiliar with the comm would be ideal.
Any activities somebody brand new to topic could join in? (such as a watchalong, posting beginners reactions or questions, etc)
Yes, new members are always to join in at any point!
Anything else the person offering to help should know?
Only that I will fully welcome any constructive feedback, positive or negative (negative would probably be most helpful, even) so don't be shy about pointing out weaknesses and mistakes!
community name /Vintage_Pyrex

topics covered in your community: Sharing knowledge & love of vintage/antique dishware, primarily with a focus on Collecting. Sharing photos of Pyrex, Federal, Hazel Atlas, Fire King, McKee, other MCM glassware and more.
The default assumption is that you need people who know the topic or are willing to dive into the topic. Is this true for you? Not necessarily. Just people willing to participate.
If you answered no, what help are you looking for that doesn't require knowledge of the topic at all? Right now I'm looking for people to participate in the group.
Do you have anything to help people learn topic? Currently with each photo I post I include the history of the pattern or piece along with the backstory I have to the piece itself. I do have more reference images and such that I can post in the group if someone wants... I still need to figure out the whole "documents" thing on here.
Any activities somebody brand new to topic could join in? I'm not sure I understand what this means... but I have websites I can give for reference & images, along with great Boards on my Pinterest that I can point people towards.
Anything else the person offering to help should know? Not that I can think of off hand ... I am open to any suggestions of ideas or themes.
Thank YOU so much @SmallBrowmFrog 💕
community name: /Handmade_Shops
a community leader's Imzy username: @DivineSpiritCreations
topics covered in your community: This is a place where All Handmade Shops could come together Share/Post their own creations in a community setting with Shoppers/Customers. Where work meets play. Where we can share our unique backgrounds and storage ideas with others.
The default assumption is that you need people who know the topic or are willing to dive into the topic. Is this true for you? Not necessarily, though a love/appreciation for Handmade items is a Definite plus!
If you answered no, what help are you looking for that doesn't require knowledge of the topic at all? Right now I'm looking for someone/people to participate, interact, or post.
Do you have anything to help people learn topic? No, though I'm not sure how teach people about the wide range of products that Handmade encompasses. I can educate on the items that I personally create or know of, though there are so many others varieties that I steer clear of 😎
Any activities somebody brand new to topic could join in? Not sure what they would be other than shopping through Etsy.com (like eBay but for Handmade & Vintage items only).
Anything else the person offering to help should know? Not that I can think of at the moment, though I am always open to suggestions, ideas, or themes someone may have. I'm good with my creativity & have a business background but am still not 100% familiar with Izmy workings so not sure of the whole "key words" thing but I do pick up quickly. And VERY appreciative of the Helps!!!!

topics covered in your community short fiction, fiction prompts, writing sprints, writing chat, etc.
The default assumption is that you need people who know the topic or are willing to dive into the topic. Is this true for you? Not really, but if dive in is follow a lot of comms/posts, then yes.
If you answered no, what help are you looking for that doesn't require knowledge of the topic at all? I'm running two monthly masterposts (of short fiction on Imzy and of short fiction friendly prompt posts not just on Imzy) that only make sense to update daily (or I'd get crazy behind), but that was definitely not the kind of activity level I realized I was getting myself into and I need help keeping the masterposts updated or finding someone who actually likes making roundups. I feel like I don't have any time to read/write any of the fic anymore.
But it doesn't require knowing the topic, just being able to follow a list of comms and each prompt post as it appears and then copy/paste into the masterposts. Even getting help with just one of the two would be very helpful.
Do you have anything to help people learn topic? If I can get help, I'll create an actual proper list of the comms I follow/watch and post from. I keep my eyes open for new ones and occasionally go on a search, but there's not much more as yet, and I could do that and add them to the list so anyone helping didn't have to.
Any activities somebody brand new to topic could join in? Considering it's a comm for very short fiction, you could technically write 6 words of fiction and post it or rec someone else's and that's the bar for entry. Really, really low.
Anything else the person offering to help should know? The comm is friendly to fanfiction and original fiction equally. I update the posts once or twice a day, once in the morning and once again if my notifications tab gets too full.

topics covered in your community Currently we have bi weekly movie nights that are voted on (except for October), but we're hoping to expand into other forms of media (ie book clubs, podcasts, etc) that can be watched/shared in a group.
The default assumption is that you need people who know the topic or are willing to dive into the topic. Is this true for you? No
If you answered no, what help are you looking for that doesn't require knowledge of the topic at all? Right now we're looking for someone to help host the bi weekly movie nights, as well as help with posting/polling relating to the bi weekly movie nights (ie polls for which movie you're going to watch, announcement/reminder posts once a movie is picked, etc).
Do you have anything to help people learn topic? Currently we have a living doc that lives on our shared AV Club google account that lists movies/short films people have requests, as well as instructions for how to choose/poll/post.
Any activities somebody brand new to topic could join in? I'm not sure I understand what this means...I don't think it applies to AV Club.
Anything else the person offering to help should know? We're basically looking for someone to own the regular bi weekly movie nights. Not only with the hosting and posting (haha) but also any ideas or themes you have - we are open to anything new you'd bring to the table.
Please check the most recent posts. Thanks.
Thank you!!
