Lady Carmichael: the FABRIC!! :D
Hi lovelies!
You may recall from my last post that the swatch from online was Not Quite Right. It was too green, and I was pretty grumpy about it.
So! Before I settled for it (which I was prepared to do), I took a jaunt into San Francisco and did an epic tour of a BUNCH of fabric stores. What did I learn? Jacquard doesn't come the color I need. I found beautiful cotton jacquards in pastel pink, burgundy, lemon yellow (? I don't know why either), and neon orange (???).
As I was giving up, I got a lead on a warehouse style discount fabric store in Berkeley. So the next day I took a detour coming home from work. LO AND BEHOLD! In the beautiful, huge upholstery section was this:
Color representation isn't great on the cell phone picture.
But the pattern! The color! The fabric weight! It's perfect!
I can more forward now! :D And the only other internet purchase I have now is the cameo (I have my mother-in-law's box of costume jewelry to dig through first, though).
Woohoo! I can get back to sewing!!

Yay! It's always so frustrating when you have problems locating materials, I'm glad it worked out.
Im glad you found something you're happy with! I know it can be super frustrating to settle for something else.
